The Underground. OOC: @keps, if, for IC or OOC reasons my reactivation of this old stronghold is problematic, please let me know. I know for sure that it wasn't destroyed.
IC: These canyons of rock and the surrounding rocky plains have hidden a secret for some time. Known only to certain members of the Brother-Hood, one of the old strongholds of Chagrin stood atop the cracked earth of the plains barely ten miles out from these canyons. This was the public face of the underground web of tunnels that was the Hive. A vast factory for the forces of Chagrin. How well kept is this secret today? Perhaps the world now knows of the location where Bohrok, and other technological weapons of war were manufactured, or perhaps it is still, as before, just a little known base hidden under miles of dense rock and earth.
A signal is received by the lead communications visorak who passes it on swiftly to the lead officer of the Hive. The Hive has been well maintained, although having shut down all new projects, the Hive still possesses a solid garrison, and a wealth of new technologies. Nuvohk are dispatched to gather rock and other resources for future use as the engineers begin gathering old schematics, instructions and materials on previous, and planned projects.
Five accumulation teams are dispatched, each team is made up of four Nuvohk, one Pahrak, and two Boggarak, Visorak Deployers. These teams move out undergound, drilling temporary tunnels for themselves as they travel...
The forces fine that they can't go very far at all underground before encountering problems. Metal that no powers or weapons have any affect on and prevent them from going anywhere.
I doubt it; Xian tech is usually pretty thermal-neutral.
Your adaptann travel right to the central Hive chamber undetected. As they begin to emerge from the ceiling, however, they are detected.
The Adaptann discover a huge, circular chamber. All four of the distant walls are lined from bottom to top with stasis pods. Four hundred pods in total, arranged in rows of twenty and stacked atop each other. Each wall is host to a hundred pods, which are partially embedded in the walls. The center of the chamber is a huge open space, which is dotted with crates, small and large racks, and parked, open topped air speeders. It is in this space, that the adaptann will notice a hastily forming welcome committee of five Pahrak, ten Tanohk, one Kohrok Kal, three Boggarak, and five automated deployers. The adaptann are immediately hailed by both radio, and verbal communication systems.
"Attention, you have trespassed on a Brother-Hood of Makuta installation. State your message."
(These specific ones are of the Saboteur variety.)
XAI projects part of herself into the Nektann. As she gazes around through the machines' cameras, she grows increasingly concerned. THis does not match up with latest-gen Brotherhood military, and in fact it bears a dangerously close resemblence to the troops used by the rebel faction led by the presumably late Makuta Charix. This is not good. "What segment of the Brotherhood?" comes from the Nektann speakers.

The answer comes promptly. "This division is set up under the great dragon of Venom's Peak, and he cannot tolerate this form of intrusion. Your Xian origins have been noted, and we request either formal relations and a talk with your leader, or an open declaration of hostility."
The Nektann will no doubt begin to see a dozen venom flyers zip into the chamber, and about twenty four assorted exo toa file into the room.
IC: Jark turns to a cloud of sandy crystals before floating in the direction of the sound.
Jraggin raises his spear in an offensive stane.
Jark passes through several layers of rock before he finds four Nuhvok, three Boggarak with a bulky exo skeleton attached to their bodies, and a Pahrak at a stand still beside a rock wall made up of the EP modified substance. They appear to be trying to analyze it. One of the Boggarak suddenly twists around at Jark's appearance and barks out, "halt!"

Jark reforms in front of the Boggarak. "Who are you?"
"Reconnaissance and collection group of the Brother-Hood. You are trespassing in our region. Who do you hail from? Xia or the Brother-Hood?" The other members of the team turn around, noticeably tense and hostile.

"The State of Xia is presently conducting a routine geological survey. We noticed an anomaly and decided to check it out." The Nektann take off again, spinning slowly before they become intangible and fly into the ceiling.

"...Zyglak...?" A few grains of sand are blown toward the visorak.

OOC: Just so you know, the post you quoted was not the one addressed to your Nektann... I'll just assume your response would be the same.
IC: The assembled force watches tensely as the Nektann leave, each unit fully expecting an immediate attack.
In the monitoring and communications chamber, the lead Visorak walks a few steps away from the large computer screen console and crouches low to the ground. Entertaining many thoughts, the Visorak turns to one of the other visorak officers in the room. "Alert Venom's Peak. Tell them we have made non violent contact with the Xian forces. Future standing uncertain." The message is sent, and the lead Visorak forces his attention to other matters. "Tell the formulators we need Kahgarak energies as soon as possible. Let's try to get this operation underway."

The grains are evidently noticed, as the lead Boggarak barks out quickly. "Stop that at once!" The other two Boggarak at his lead suddenly allow kanoka launchers attached to their backs to snap forwards, ready to shoot the grains of sand or anything else deemed as a threat.
Provided your characters do not immediately attack, the lead Boggarak speaks out as clearly as possible. "What are you doing in our region? What brings Zyglak to this area?"

The sand rolls to a stop. "Stop what? We were already here. I heard your digging and came to investigate."
Five Shadow matoran are put to work designing weapons and gear for the Zyglak, any supplies needed are gathered.
It was a shame the 'Nynrah' didn't fully agree to working here, but at least they cared nothing for the GBs and understood the price for not cooperating.
Jraggin picks up the cannon and blasts a massive hunk out of the canyon wall opposite of the side he is on.
"What are you doing?" The matoran cry. "One wrong shot and your entire camp would be buried in rubble, us along with it!"
"When can you mass produce these weapons?" The Zyglak examines the gun further, trying to come up with a name for it.
"Are you kidding? These are just prototypes, and we are scientists, not laborers!" Suddenly, the shadow matoran's heartlight flashes violently as the barrel of the cannon is positioned right in front of his kanohi. "Wh- What I mean is, if we build them for you, we couldn't supply your army fast enough. We need a factory, or a Legion of slaves..."
"Slaves rebel." Jraggin puts the cannon back on the work bench. "Factories require too much." He whips out a destructo tipped arrow. "Tell us where to get the materials, then teach us how to build our own weapons. Trust me, Zyglak are quick learners."

As for our digging, we are members of a Brother-Hood outpost that has a stake of territory near this location. We are conducting Brother-Hood business. I trust you will not interfere?"

"I am not our leader. However, so long as you do not provoke us, I see no reason we would." Jark shatters and flows back through the rock to bring the news to Jraggin. The grains on the ground remain.
