I stood there, photoreceptors fixed on this "toa" who once served the brotherhood like I once did. The difference was that I was superiour, I was given clarity by a shadow leech, he was confined to the boundaries of loyalty. There we faced eachother, one careless word away from an all out war... well, more of a really quick execution.
"Your time is up, Rinowill. Surrender your heartlight to darkness and see the world as I do, or perish in the name of an empty lie." I offered out my hand. In it was his salvation, a mutated kraata capable of draining the moral light from a soul. I knew he wouldn't take it, but there is always a choice.
The Great kanohi of fusion he wore reflected his inner turmoil, resilient, knowlagable, powerful... frightened, foolish, weak. The toa picked up the shadow leech with his mind, inspecting it visually as well as mentally. Suddenly it began to shriek at a shrill pitch, eventually displaying all its inner workings with a revolting expansion of itself. "Never, I remain loyal to the Brotherhood. I can serve them better as a servant then a radical like you."
So, we began fighting. I lifted my hand up and a devastating bolt of Shadow connected me to this "toa," charring his GSR shell body, but not destroying it.
Rinowill responded by attempting to fuse me to the well with his kanohi-channeling spear, instead, the well was unified with a solid shadow version of myself. He tried throwing me around like a rag doll, only to find that my armor adapted to scenarios like that. Then things began flying at me, hitting nothing but walls of Shadow. There was only one thing left this artificial ce-toa could do, and it was suicide.
"You know what I am about to do, so you know surrender is your only option." He planted his spear in the ground.
"Before you destroy yourself, remember that mental connections go both ways." I looked him right in the photoreceptors, giving him a stern warning to think about his upcoming move.
Rinowill let out a bellowing laugh. "I have had training, novice toa! My willpower was enhanced by years of exercise, internal focus, and even by artificial means. You are nothing more then a rahi when compared to me."
He was a fool, I could tell when his thoughts brushed mine. I waited, receiving mental blow after mental blow without getting even the slightest of headaches. Now it was my turn. Just by merely observing his thoughts I could sense him wince in pain, but he thought that was all I had. Like always, I was underestimated. I willed him to experience more pain, and it was so. When he tried to disconnect I simply told his powers not to, and it was so. He begged for me to let him detach his mind from mine, but I kept ripping apart his consciousness. Once I had had my fun, I willed his death, and it was so.
I gave him a choice; clarity, or scuicide. He didn't see the result of either, but I did. I know how every move, every life, every death, and every thought can serve my strategy, my will. There is always choice, but there is only one outcome.
My shadow left the well and followed me close behind as I walked toward The Great City.
Tredixs and Veihrl slowly float down near the well, with Tredixs blasting it with as much cold as he could muster. The well is quickly frozen into a block of ice and the near by area into a frozen wasteland.
"I do not understand. Why would the Silver Substance of Destruction and Transformation do this?"
"I've told you what it told me. It wants out and it's breaking out. It wants the freedom it once enough back in our old universe. What is so strange about that?"
"There have been no Quakes of the End Times. The World of Beauty and Paradise has remained silent, not a single utterance of Moans of Sword Piercing Pain."
"........." Tredixs looks around and feels out the area with is powers, "......Nothing feels different. I can only sense the abundance of Energized Protodermis almost everywhere.......Maybe that's how it happened the first time?"
"There is One Who hold the Answer we seek. An Old Teacher of Sword and Tongue that you, Second Heart of Mata Nui, now very well."
"Feand is still alive? I've been meaning to see him again........Alright, let's go."
A matoran teleports in and leans against the well, exhausted by their flight. He looks into the well, in search of water.
He backs away from the well as he sees the frozen EP within. A second group approaches, hardly visible on the horizon. The matoran teleports the colossal distance with his disk...

The yellow turaga of fire looks at the lone waiting matoran with concern. "Taga. Where is turaga Kartur?" "He stayed behind. He said he would come when he could." "Of course he did. Hmm. Well, he knows where we're headed. I'm sure he can find us." The turaga turns to the other matoran and the scientists. "The desert is no place for life. We are heading for the border between this place and the icy mountains. Where the heat and cold meet there will be a band of livable temperature. There we will found our city." He starts walking. "Let us waste no time."

Puppet Master appears in a burst of shadow and frowns at the EP in the well, and forms a disk of shadow and sends it down the well clearing it of EP and sending it to the Forgotten Fleet.

Choking and coughing claws it's way out from the empty well, followed by a weak splattering of an energy-rich high density liquid being forced out of a cavity that had suddenly been given the mind to find the substance revolting. A long, hollow inhalation of breath soon cries for the attention of no one but he who took it. Rinowill had just taken his first breath in two months, and it felt good.
Despite what many people may think, the mind has a weak concept of time. When it becomes fascinated with an intriguing stimulus, days can become seconds. When it is subjected to hardship, torture, and extremely displeasuring tasks or environments, even minutes can stretch on into centuries. Rinowill's mind was ripped to shreds weeks ago, but a small grain had survived, slowly repairing every piece until everything lost had been recovered. For an eternity, he knew nothing but the fact that he had to keep building, and eventually he regained the ability to make memories. It was a horrible mistake, learning to retain memories before he had his old ones, since it only made the repairing process seem to take longer, yet somehow he pushed his way through the entire 5,270,400 year-long seconds without ever giving up or losing faith.
The toa sat up, feeling the streams of Energized Protodermis rolling off his body and pooling on the rock beneath him. He had never before in his life truly appreciated the sensations of stale air moving in and out of his lungs, or the feeling of static from an anomalous substance like the silver fluid still dripping from his gaping mouth. It had been far too long since he had even been able to see actual darkness, which was vastly different from the nothingness of thoughts, and Rinowill was enjoying every minute of it.
