Vatomak steps out of a portal into the secret base deep beneath the surface of Av-Ta-Su's central volcano. With a blast of fire he lights the forges and separates into the three toa. Jalkron holds out his hand as he lays his sword on a table. "Ender, sword please. Dralik, put the lances over there. Check the rest of the base, see if it's still operational. Don't disturb me unless it's an emergency, this is going to take some concentration." Jalkron gets right to work putting the power lances' tech inside his and Ender's swords, no easy feat since both swords were carved from the armor of Karunax. Dralik and Ender go to check the defenses and other systems in the base.

The base was completely sealed off from the world so the EP would not have affected it much
Anything short of being off planet or in a pocket dimension would not protect it.
drat. What would have changed?
Everything would be turned into the same EP metal as all the other places, which means it's pretty much indestructible. Room changes would have been turning it into a small mission control center, so several monitors and various computation devices.

that's a serious downgrade except for the metal.
Needed more devotion for larger mechanisms than emergency controls.

This is a fully fortified, heavily defended base. It was designed to be a base of operations for a large assault force if needed. It's completely hidden, sealed off from the outside world, enough weapons to decimate an army in minutes, scanners powerful enough to search throughout the surrounding wahis, and living quarters and an armory sufficient to house and supply an army. There's not much to improve on.

Re-purposing, not improving.
Dralik and Ender come to the command room. "This is like the rest, mostly indestructible metal." Dralik says as he looks around. Ender boots up the computers and almost shows emotion. "We've been hacked. Actually, more like a completely different program has been installed. We still have backups right?" "I'll check." Dralik teleports away, coming back with a data storage unit which he tosses to Ender. The shadow toa plugs it into the console and the computer begins reinstalling its original programming. In a few minutes 'system online' scrolls across the screens, then a list of the rest of the base's systems as they become operational. "Looks like we're good. I wonder how Jalkron is doing?"
Jalkron was doing just fine as he tinkered away at his sword. He had managed to put most of the tech from the power lance in the handle of the sword, but it couldn't be focused through the sword itself since Karunax's armor was element proof. Jalkron cut a tiny hole through the sword with his olmak, then carefully molten proto steel down it. Leaving it to cool, he started on Ender's sword.

As Jalkron finished Ender's sword, the other two toa walk back into the room. "All good?" Jalkron asks. "Yeah," Dralik replies, "but a couple things were different. For example the ground around us is almost indestructible metal now, and our computer systems were reprogrammed. Everything is back online now though." "Good. Catch." Jalkron says as he tosses Ender's sword to the shadow toa. "Power lance meets indestructible sword." Ender catches it. "You tested these yet?" "No, and speaking of testing we still need to test Vatomak's new powers. Lets go find a target." The trio head up to the command room.
A toa of plantlife makes his way towards the volcano, alternating between a Kualsi and an Elda. His battleaxe is firmly attached to his back.
As the trio of toa sit in the command room of their base looking for action the toa pops up on their screen. "What's he doing?" Dralik asks. "It appears he is looking for something and trying to get their as fast as possible." Ender replies. "Probably the parts of the mask of life in us." Jalkron frowns. "Most likely. I want to know his intentions for it the mask, should he succeed." "Should we go ask him?" Dralik asks. "Nah, let him come to us." Jalkron says. "Let's not tip our hand yet. He might not even be here for the mask, although that seems unlikely." The trio sit and wait as the toa rapidly approaches.
