And so, it is done. Although his body cannot get any more limp than it already is, Karunax's terrified expression remains frozen onto his face.A long moment of silence passes, in which Kaatonga might have begun to either leave on her own or take the Makuta's body away from the cave. Whichever action she takes, it is interrupted by a cold, metallic voice... coming from Karunax's own unmoving mouth.
"Intriguing, is it not? The decisions and actions of traumatized individuals. Poor Karunax suffered for billions of years, with every passing day marking a little death to his being, all within a few seconds of proper time. I am impressed that he managed to remember how to speak. Still, he had an entire blank slate with which to write a new story for himself.
But you. You could not bear to see him in such a state. Tell me... was it pity for his sorry condition... or was it malice? Revenge taken upon a previously terrible and unforgivable enemy? Such that you would deny him a chance to begin anew? I am curious to know. Curious to know what would cause you to put reborn innocence to death."
A faint crackling sound fills the room as Karunax's motionless body begins to dissolve into a plethora of glowing green, ash-like particles. As the particles completely fade into nonexistence, The Composer's voice echoes away with one last statement.
" ... I am confident you will make a fine replacement."
Finally, no trace of Karunax remains, and all is silent.
