What originated as merely a write up of the character's history turned into a full blown story. I added a prelude and an epilogue to the character history. Plus I'll be writing a sequel story, set in the Dark Mirror alt. universe.
Two Matoran pushed aside bits of rubble that were in the ancient temple. Pohra and Korvakk. Two adventurers who specialized in selling ancient artifacts. With the rubble out of the way, they had full access to a tunnel. “Lightstone.”, Korvakk said, Pohra handing him one. Korvakk descended down the tunnel, Pohra following behind him. “We really should have sent a drone down here. We don't know how stable the ground is.”Pohra complained. “The Queen hired us to do this. And we have a due date. No time for precautions.”, Korvakk said. “Mata-Nui knows what she does to people who don't get their work done in time.” As they finally reached the end of the tunnel, they found it emptied out into a room. The room had multiple torches lining the walls and in the middle of the room was a statue of a Vortixx. Pohra pulled out a small electronic device and took energy readings, “The statue is emanating high amounts of energy. It's like nothing I've seen.” Korvakk had wandered to the back of the room and was more interested with what he found, “Come over here.” “What is it?”, Pohra jogged over to Korvakk. Pohra saw that the back wall was covered entirely with writing. Ancient writing. Pohra was an amateur linguist and it wasn't a language he recognized. “I can't read this.” he said. “No,” Korvakk said. “but I can. It's an old language but I think I can make most of it. It looks like some kind of record or story. It could be the most significant find ever.” “Well, what does it say?”

PRESENTS:
THE LEGEND OF VORTAXX
In the beginning the great beings created all the living things in the universe. To help them further explore the vast galaxies they made a robot, with small biomechanical beings inside that would help the robot function. The first of these beings was one of a Vortixx model. A glitch in the programming caused it to gain sentience. The great beings decided to put the Vortixx to use, as opposed to destroying it. They gave him a job. That job was to keep an eye on the inner workings on the robot along with two assistants. They gave him a name. That name was Vortaxx. Over time the other beings in the machine gained sentience as well. And also over time the power source of the machine became depleted. Vortaxx found a planet with a proficient energy source. An alternate form of protodermis. When the robot landed some of the inhabitants felt the need to colonize it. Vortaxx knew his duty. He was supposed to oversee all that the other biomechanical beings did, but was also supposed to view the robots well being. So he made a choice. He instructed his assistants to get the robot back to where it came from, while he would go with those who would stay on the planet. And so he did. He stayed as a servant to the queen of the Vortixx until he was framed for her attempted assassination. He was cast out of the kingdom for all eternity. He wondered for years, until one day, as fate would have it, he discovered a mineral. He mistook it for Iron but soon learned it had more in common with protodermis. Instead of renaming the material, he decided to have it keep the name Iron Ore. IO for short. Vortaxx crafted armor and designed weapons made to shoot the mineral in a weaponized state. And when weaponized, it was highly corrosive. He waged a one warrior attack on the Vortixx fortress, defeating the queen and turning the Vortixx monarchy on its head. For the first time ever, the Vortixx had a king. The new king created a kingdom of great power and respect amongst the neighboring territories by selling the Iron Ore, but the secret to harvesting it was never shared to one that was not a Vortixx. Thousands of years later, a war broke out. This war was inconsequential to the Vortixx at first. All it meant to them was that their economy would bloom greatly. But a conspiracy grew. The evil tyrant known as Die-She had an agent of his infiltrate the Vortixx and climb their ranks. When Vortaxx uncovered the plot to assassinate him and siege the Iron Ore depositories he took immediate action. He aligned with the Toa, led by the great warrior known as Metru-Nui to fight Die-She. After many more years, Die-She was defeated, Metru-Nui dead and the world finally in a state of recovery. Vortaxx sold the Iron Ore for cheaper prices as a way to aid in the faster recovery of the global community. Peace was finally upon the world. If only for a moment. After the reconstruction, the matoran grew adventurous as the memories of what had come before started to fade in the minds of some. Three matoran salvagers revived Die-She, but this time Die-She had a plan. He would wait and bide his time before striking. But something else struck first. Apollyon, an ancient entity that rebelled against the great beings was awoken after thousands of years of slumber. His presence stirred Ignika, the warrior created to prevent Apollyon from ever succeeding in his mission, back into action. This war was much worse than the others. Apollyon had no use for Vortaxx and his trinkets, and so he attacked the Vortixx. A mass genocide. Many fought bravely. Toa, Vortixx, Matoran, and even some not from that universe. But when Vortaxx saw that he would lose, he did the only thing he could. He took a device made to enable the user to travel through dimensions and went to a new one. In this universe the war hadn't happened. And everyone he knew never existed. But the past would soon catch up with him. Vortaxx assumed the role of a king once more and lead the Vortixx in a war against the Makuta, as he feared that if they were not eradicated early, they would rise up and try and conquer that universe as Die-She tried to do to his. But his efforts were mistaken. Many other factions took the side of the Makuta, fighting against the Vortixx. In an attempt to turn the tables, Vortaxx modified the device that brought him to that universe and enabled it to warp time in addition to dimensional barriers. He went to the past, taking his technology from the time he came with him. He imprisoned his past self and used the technology to advance his war machines and make him stronger for when he would come to fight the Makuta for a second round. But alas, his efforts were in vain. He lost the battle greatly, and in an attempt to buy time faked his death. In a desert he had constructed a tower of Iron Ore and buried deep underground he created a fortress that was impenetrable. But an unforeseen wrinkle entered the fray. A being known as Frost, who claimed to be Vortaxx from the future and possessed the ability to see and manipulate time, arrived in the past to try and stop Vortaxx from pursuing the path he was on. Eventually Vortaxx was defeated and went presumed dead. But Vortaxx was not dead. He had merely wound up in an interdimensional gap, which spat him out into a universe that gave him nothing but time. He used the technology from that universe to come up with a plan. He had decided to eradicate them all. And so, he built machinery to harness tachyons that would block Frost from being able to see what he was up too. He traveled to the universe where Frost and those he waged war on, and began building. Building a bomb. Vortaxx had constructed a bomb that used Iron Ore as the catalyst. It was powerful enough to destroy a planet. But Vortaxx, with his massive ego, left clues as to his actions. Clues that Frost and other picked up. Gathering a team of warriors, Frost went on a crusade to stop Vortaxx from setting of a chain reaction amongst the all the different universes that would result in total obliteration of life through the multiverse. After Vortaxx defeat, a different punishment for him was decided upon. He was too dangerous to be left dead, for his death was what led to him being of no concern in the first place. And so, he was imprisoned in the Pit, multiple guards set to watch over him. Frost paid his past counterpart many visits. It was over these visits that Frost told Vortaxx the plan he had. Frost had seen the future, and in that future he would not be there, so he entrusted Vortaxx with the responsibility of fighting against that future. Deep down in the bowels of Xia, in the remains of Vortaxx old facilities, someone had broken free. The past incarnation of Vortaxx. The one that was locked away from when Vortaxx traveled to the past to change the time line. And Past Vortaxx was not happy. But the time while Vortaxx was fighting against the universe, some beings from his past had come to the universe he was at. Frost had been busy. The future he came from was a bleak one. One where all life in the galaxy had been eradicated. Eradicated by the alliance formed by the Past Vortaxx, Apollyon, and a third party consisting of an innumerable machine army. And so, Frost gathered a team of warriors. He brought Metru-Nui from the universe Vortaxx had come from, an alternate version of Die-She from the machine army's universe known as Prophet, the Vortaxx from the universe Frost was in, and Ignika, who was an interdimensional anomaly sharing all memories across all universes. Past Vortaxx had been performing tasks for Apollyon, traveling to other dimensions to unite the armies of the alternate Apollyons into one massive singular army. The alternate Apollyons merged into one being, and the time came for when the machine army would arrive into the universe. The three allied with each other in order to conquer the multiverse, one universe at a time. Vortaxx had staged a jailbreak and went into hiding, waiting for the sign from Frost to begin with their plan. Past Vortaxx executed a carefully laid plan to kill Frost, one that went without a hitch. Frost was dead, and with his death the time stream started to fracture. Slowly falling apart. Due to lack of knowledge regarding Frosts equipment, Vortaxx was involved in an incident in Frost's old lab. The incident changed his armor Colour to white and blue, and merged his being with the time stream. He saw the past, the present and the future. He had become Frost. Frost gathered Metru-Nui, Prophet, Ignika, and the Vortaxx of that universe together and gave them the necessary instructions on what to do to try and defeat Apollyon and the others. While they would enact the plan, Frost would travel to the past to try and prevent Apollyon, Past Vortaxx and the machines from their path of genocide. An action that would forever trap Frost in a loop. While Apollyon's army and the machines attacked the Makuta, the group headed out into the desert, to stop Apollyon from reaching the Heart of the universe. For if Apollyon were to reach The Heart, he would be able to control time itself. Apollyon having broken through the seal, betrayed Vortaxx, killing him just as the band of warriors arrived. But with them, they had brought new warriors. And so, a battle was fought. The Machine Lord was defeated, and with him his army deactivated. Apollyon was banished, his being split apart into various aspects of his psyche. And Past Vortaxx was dead, from the trust he put into a monster. And so, the heroes entered the portal that lead to The Heart. The time stream needed to be fixed, and Vortaxx knew how to do it. He gave up his body, merging himself with time. As his consciousness faded, he sent the group of warriors to the destinations they desired. Metru-Nui went to the dimension he came from, but this time he went to the past to try and stop Die-She from the mistake that would lead to the Great War. Ignika stayed in his home dimension, where he would wait so that should Apollyon return, he would be ready to stop him. Prophet opted to not return home. Instead he chose to stay in the same universe as Ignika. And as they were sent on their way, Vortaxx faded from existence, finally becoming one with the time stream.
“Well, that was complex.”Pohra said. “Wonder if it's true.”Korvakk replied. A voice answered from behind them, “Oh, it's true. It's all true.” The Matoran spun around to find the owner of the voice, a Vortixx, sitting in a chair made of stone, barely visible in the darkness of the room. “And just who the karzahni are you?”Korvakk said. “I can't be sure, but,”the Vortixx said. “I think I'm Vortaxx.”
