Dim lights move across in seemingly random pattern.
Noise echoes indefinably, as your mind slowly begins cognitive function. With a jolt the blurry image comes into focus, and you notice a massive headache.
Spacial awareness kicks in and you realize you're laying on your back staring at some sort of ceiling, but unlike anything you've seen before. At least anything you remember. If you could remember anything that it...
The voices return. Bodies accompany them, and you notice the forms of strange...somethings...stooping over you. They garble to each other, but you can't seem to figure out what they're saying. It all still seems very distant. They gesture to you angrily, but their annoyance seems to be directed at each other.
You open your mouth to speak, but you realize you aren't breathing. Of all things, you forgot how to breath! Pain fills your nerve centers, as your lungs burn. You start to wonder how long you've been without breath, but you push the thoughts away and focus on remembering how...
At last, a huge gasp, your eyes going wide, and your body involuntarily convulsing. The kinetic movement and oxygen snaps your brain on like a light-switch. The creatures, as you turn your head, are small, red and purple, and carrying an array of scalpels and other things you can't identify.
In between heaving breaths you get out the words, "Who...am I?"
The creatures look at you and respond, "It'll come to you."
Another says, "It usually takes a while."
A third, "But it's better than no mind at all!"
Slowly....very slowly....memories flood you. Who you are, what you stood for. And no matter who you are...some violent end you didn't walk away from...
