"And why not?" The aura of light around Avnias steadily grows.
"We can protect ourselves well enough. Now leave before you're all less than cinders."
Avnias raises his eyebrows as his light aura slowly encompasses the nearer cordak nui. "Wait, you have weaponry sufficient to destroy armies of empowered and equipped skakdi? Is there anything other than protection we could trade for such technology?" The other skakdi are getting antsy, but are cowed from insulting the matoran by the cordak pointed at them and Avnias' continued calm.
Eric limps into the region, approaching from a different angle than the skakdi. Under inspection it seems that he’s not in the best of shapes, with numerous wounds spread all over him.

Assumimg the matoran are hospitable, he would stay to tend to his wounds and then be on his way. Any widgets he pays them would revert to rocks after a couple weeks.

Some guards keep him at the boarder, not trusting Kra-Matoran. Though not entirely cruel, one of them calls for some medics to patch Eric up while the other tells him to stay out and wait. As they wait, the guard asks Eric what happened to him.

”I met some hostile skakdi.” He responds, waiting at the border.

"Those jerks are always trying to rule these parts. Surprised they survived the Brotherhood's bombings."
The medics finally come and start to patch Eric up.
"Where did you come from anyways? Atero Nui? Don't tell me it was that trash dump."

”No, I’m from Kal-Koro. I doubt Atero Nui can be much worse than that.”
"Kal-Koro? I don't know any.......Oh, that place. The garbage fire. How did you wind up all the way out here? Strangling behind that Brakas of a Turaga of yours?"

”No, I left on my own a while ago. It wasn’t a nice place.” He gets up to leave. “Anyways, thanks for the help.”

"So we won't tell him you're here then. Safe travels."

The Turaga tabs one of his blades on the ground several times and the Matoran fire their Cordak Nui Blasters onto the Skakdi.

The cordak detonate against the light aura, which turns solid in but a moment. The aura shrinks rapidly under the onslaught, but hold for the time being. The encompassed guns simply destroy themselves the moment the aura solidifies. Avnias draws his guns and quickly picks off any visible weaponry with blasts of light. The skakdi behind him take the cue to attack, wielding varied weapons and powers.

The explosions envelope the Skakdi, given the shield surrounding the village and that the Skakdi are outside of it and keep outside. As such, the weapons are protected by the shield, preventing the light from coming to them and continue to fire uninterrupted. Any Skakdi foolish enough to try and get in to attack are either obliterated immediately or bounce off the shield into another region.

Avnias skirts the Koro with a burst of immense speed, searching for any less-protected vectors. Presumably finding none, they fall back at his insistance.

Avnias shields as many as he can, though some still fall.
An OTAT loaded down with several exo toa, bohrok, a Visorak Deployer glides its way towards the area. In front of it, a matoran and an Oohnorak flanked by two S. Exo Toa and three Bogaarak Deployers, walk forwards, leading the way.
The Oohnorak, appearing slightly on edge, turns to Darren as they continue to walk. "The Koro? Is it supposed to be nearby? Have we missed it?"
