This probably could use a bit of an update. Also, is AEGIS joinable?
Mmm, I'll have to start working through it. Dunno about AEGIS, but I'll add a note on whether or not they're joinable as I'm going through each faction.
A religious organization dedicated to enacting the will of Mata Nui as they see it. They act as the government of New Atero, enforcing law and providing the city with military power through their Toa Army. The Order sees the Matoran and Toa as Mata Nui’s chosen, ensuring that they are doing their Duty, and all other species are regarded as Jutlin. Jutlin are at best tolerated, and at worst detained and removed from the city.
The Order is led by the Three Virtues, a mysterious trio who guide the organization from behind closed doors. For the most part the Face of Mata Nui, Toa Sansod, acts as the head of the organization, representing it in critical matters and making decisions with the advisement of the Virtues. There are several specialized groups within the New Order, such as the Kaiaka, elite warriors, the Inquisitors, cloaked psionic beings tasked with determining the truth of situations, the Order of the Klakk, a group concerned with rooting out and healing any shadow-afflicted beings, and the Twilight Order, a secretive group that deals with heresies quickly and quietly.
Bases of operation: They operate primarily within the city of New Atero, using the central Temple of Light as their holy grounds and headquarters. However, they have bases throughout and outside the city, such as the holy site of the unified village.
Allies: The New Order works closely with the Builder’s Guild and Nekra Corp. to maintain the city’s infrastructure and technology, as well as allying themselves with the Vanguard, Knights of Vashari, Guard Force and AEGIS when it comes to defending the city. Enemies: Any who deny the works of Mata Nui are enemies of the Order, from the lowliest of Jutlins to even rogue Toa. This has placed organizations such as the Storm Legion and Iron Warband as ideological enemies of the state, though raider groups such as Vo-Zya have proved themselves to be enemies for far pettier reasons.
The Vanguard are a team unlike any other, an eclectic assembly of warriors, inventors, and heroes dedicated to the safety of New Atero and the world. They serve as the people’s first and last lines of defense against the biggest threats imaginable, with massive monsters, otherworldly demons, and vicious warlords being a primary part of their job description. While most of the heroes call New Atero home and primarily act in and around the city, they have been known to travel far and wide should it be necessary.
The Vanguard, formed by circumstance and coincidence more than anything, :hold a very loose structure. Toa Rahzahkea and the Toa Vashari are usually considered the leaders of the operation, with Toa Pheore and Toa Kinaki appointed as advisers by other factions. Aside from that, the team is a free-for-all, even fighting amongst themselves on occasion. Joining the team is surprisingly easy (although there may be a selection bias at play here), and members have even been known to go independent or leave the team at will.
Bases of operation: The Vanguard find their current headquarters to be the Hagah Base in Ko-Magna, a retrofitted warehouse that is slowly being upgraded to suit the Vanguard’s needs. The bar and nightclub Xia’s 2 has also been a historical meeting point for the group, with transports such as the Hahli serving as mobile rally points when the team travels.
Allies: Given their operation inside New Atero, the Vanguard have formed a close relationship with both the New Order and Nekra Corp., admitting members from both onto the team and accepting funding and technology from Nekra. The Knights of Vashari deserve a special mention, being lead by one of the Vanguard’s founding members, and serve as a sister faction alongside the Vanguard. Enemies: As defenders of the people, the Vanguard have made a great deal of enemies over the years, including the Empire of Darkness, the Wrathbringers, the Excaeli, and Torok. More recently they have found themselves in skirmishes with the Storm Legion, and found themselves targeted by a mysterious group of twisted beings.
