"As of late, the Toa have been.... Straying from their path. I fear the Mangai are going mad with power."
"They seemed nice to me. How do you know what's going on?"
It is becoming apparent that this guy has been doing nothing but equations for the past hundred thousand years.
"When a team of Toa who were previously rational establish what looks an awful lot like the government they tried to make you and I lead, things become somewhat suspicious."

"...Hm. I can see your point. The people need education."

SOnucus sighs. "THat they do. THe problem is how to get it to them.

"I can be a teacher. I have to do something with my knowledge. Yes, that's a great idea, don't you think! We should open a school. We can invite all of the people from the project..." His voice trails off as he remembers "the project" -- the operation to build an immense robot capable of destroying solar systems. He quickly sheds the trains of thought. "And we can diversify it! Oh, they'll learn economics, calculus -- do they even still teach that in schools? -- optics..."
His voice trails on again, but not into silence: he has lost himself in education.

"We'd need a pretty big school.... And yes, I know the Matoran teach calculus, at least."

He stops twirling around with ideas and jerks his gaze to Sonucus. "Do you know how big it'll have to be? We could upgrade it to a full-blown university!"

"I don't know how big it'll need to be, but we'd certainly need more teachers. And if you want to do the advanced courses you're talking about, I'm unsure that the Ga-Matoran will be able to teach such material."

"Well, I mean, we can't throw them straight into quantum mechanics. The Ga-Matoran can teach introductory courses!"

The Vahki keep waiting. While they wait they send a message to Garadur.
Karunax stands in the outskirts of a great clearing, thinking furiously as he paces back and forth with his arms crossed. Within his view, the unstable form of Pain is collapsed on his knees, his hands clasped tightly to the sides of his head, his fingers digging into his metal skull. A strange, metallic hum resonates constantly from him, and the metal plates constructing his form vibrate erratically. Karunax finally stops pacing, and decides to try again.
"Demon, can you hear me yet? I don't know what's happened to you, but if you want any chance at revenge, you're going to have to pull it together."
No response. Karunax throws his hands up in frustration and resumes his pace. He would be more than happy to abandon this sorry monster, but at this point, the Makuta still needed him for the future. Still, at this rate, he wonders if there will even be a future worth going on for. He decides to give Pain 20 more seconds before he goes and tries to kick some sense into him.

WIth a loud grinding noise, a streamlined black thing pokes itself out of the ground some distance away. It slowly emerges until eventually revealing itself to be a three-meter tall ovalish thing, tapering off to a point. There is an inset handle, along with a little green light at the top.

Karunax's 20-second countdown is interrupted, and he goes to investigate. Pain doesn't move.
The hulking Makuta approaches the object and peers down at it.

"Now what is this?"
Ignoring precaution, he nudges it with his foot.
It doesn't move. The object seems to extend underground.
