Shard nods slowly, looking a bit perplexed almost. "Really, no one else?"
He mutters something imperceptible. "So ah, now that we're both here-" He gestures vaguely to Lync and himself, "-would you mind telling us anything else about the voyage, that would be pertinent to know before we depart?"
"Not really, the poster has most of it. I just need to let the authorities know I'm leaving, who's coming, and we should be good in the clear to head to Xia. That's where we'll be stocking up on supplies since..." Rhupt stands on the tips of his feet and looks out the door. "...specialty items aren't sold here."
IC: Shard looks at Rhupt, and sneaks another glance out the door. He still sees no Vahki.
"...ah. The authorities. Yes. Of course. Naturally." He nods his head, beginning to finally relax (or at least, unwind a bit). "What supplies do you already have, how much do you estimate we'll need to get for the trip as a whole?"

"The authorities?" Lync repeats, leaning forward again. "Like the Vahki? What do we need to check with them for? Is something wrong? Not that anything's wrong, of course, which is why we don't need to check with the Vahki, right?" She looks between the other two Matoran, bewildered. Surely they had more important things to do than set up an elaborate trap for her, right?

Before Rhupt can answer the question regarding supplies, Lync gives her comment about the Vahki. He slouches a bit back and lets out a deep breath.
"No, not to the Vahki, but they'll hunt us down if we don't. You see, getting into Metru Nui is pretty easy, it's getting out that's the problem." He pauses and looks at the two to gauge their reaction before continuing.

"A problem?" she says, her voice gaining in intensity. "What kind of problem? Why aren't we allowed to leave? We don't have to run some sort of blockade, do we?" She fidgets, her hands dancing in front of her with frantic energy before falling to her sides as fists. If she had known leaving would be this much trouble, she wouldn't have come to this Vahki-infested island in the first place. Maybe if things went wrong she could get into the water... assuming they didn't have Rahi-hunting robots down there too. What a mess.

IC: "Oh," is all Shard replies with, looking more than a bit put out. He shrugs, scratching the back of his head and managing to hide his slowly rising unease with the situation. "So we have to sneak out, is what you're saying? Or do we need some kind of specific documents in order to "properly" leave?"

Rhupt takes a lot more notice of Lync and her spastic nervous energy. Shard seemed less concerned, but in this climate everyone is nervous to an extent.
"We just have to inform officials that we are leaving. So the Turaga or a council Matoran, someone like that. You see, with how...dangerous the universe has become, the Turaga and Toa have agreed to a mask count. Especially with so many Matoran immigrating here, it's best to know who might be missing in an attack or why work in some sectors isn't being done. So if they know, they won't have to worry and Toa can more easily come to our aid if needed. At least, so I've been told."

"Oh." Lync's frantic energy calms somewhat, tempered by his words. That seemed like less of a problem than she had feared. Sure, there was a possibility that they would notice her being an extra mask in the crowd, but with any luck she would be long gone before that happened. A slight smile crosses her face, and she nods to herself.
"That's fine, perfectly fine. Not that I was worried, I just... I don't get along with the Vahki, really."

IC: Shard exhales heavily, nodding enthusiastically. "Ah yes, that sounds like not too much trouble at all. I'm sure, ah..."
He furrows his brow, glancing at Lync and then at Rhupt again. "..there's not any specific reason they might deny us exit, you think? It's not like any of us are criminals or people of ill repute or significant background anyways."
Shard sort of shrugs. "Just a couple of Matoran shouldn't cause too much of a fuss, right?"

"I think more are against the Vahki these days anyways," Rhupt says to Lync. "Not like they really follow the Turaga anyways..." He closes his eyes, slightly shaking his head.
And after Shard's comment, he says, "Correct, we shouldn't be denied. Who knows, if we're lucky we might even get a Toa to come along."

IC: Shard furrows his brow more deeply, but he nods slowly. "Ah yes, that sounds fine then. So long as we can get out faster than the Vahki or border guard decide we should stay, then it should be fine."
He sighs, stretching a bit and looking around the shop. "Well, before we begin our journey at any rate..." Shard gestures vaguely in the direction of Rhupt, alternating between glancing at him and looking around at the shop. "...I take it you know how to get to our destination? And have you any vessel or...excess supplies to aid in the journey?" Shard glances toward the ground and feels under his cloak for something. "I have some items, but I'm not wholly confident in my supply right now."

A knock is heard as the door slowly swings open, revealing a relatively well armed Ta-Maotran. He stares into the room for a second, caught off guard by the unexpected opening of the door, but quickly recovers his composure and walks in, his obviously well used armor clanking with every step. "Hello!" He proclaims to the room cheerfully. "I heard that you're planning an expedition and I'd like to volunteer. My name's Darren." He takes a moment to look around the room at those present. "I guess I'm not the first. What might all your names be?"

IC: Shard turns and gives the Ta-Matoran a once-over. A moment later he manages to unfurrow his brow, and nods once. "Ah, hello! I am Shard, a Matoran also invested into this quest."
He points toward Lync. "This is...Lync I believe? Apologies if I got your name wrong."
He gestures again, toward Rhupt. "And the fine fellow who organized this, Rhupt."

"Probably, but having a city guard certainly helps!"
...Luckily, there are plenty of Toa and Vahki to provide city protection. Rhupt quietly thinks to himself.
He then suddenly remembers the previous question. "Oh yes! You asked about supplies. I have a decent amount, being a mask maker and all that, got plenty of Kanoka disks. A couple crystals, rope, and some other various items as well. If I don't have it, we can always attempt to buy some here or in Xia."

Lync watches the conversation from the corner, suddenly quiet. She glances quickly at Darren, looking away a moment later. City guard? Did he work with the Vahki. He wasn't here for her was he? He was being awfully sneaky if he was. Some predators worked like that, laying in wait until their prey had all-but caught itself. Did the Matoran think like that? Was this an elaborate setup? Maybe... maybe not. As it stood, this was still her best chance to leave. She could play along as long as the others did.

Shard smiles broadly and spreads his arms. "Wonderful! I've not much, but I do have enough to chip in should we need to buy more supplies."
He fumbles through his cloak, looking through some small bag (or bags) he has under there. A moment later he seems to give up, and looks back at everyone. "Yeah. Not much." The Matoran blinks and glances in Lync's direction.
"Have you anything with you? If you don't have enough supplies I'm sure we-", he gestures to the other three Matoran
"-can help cover the cost."
He smiles (what he seems to think) is a winning smile in her direction.

"Er, uh, I have some discs with me, I think," she says, quickly checking to see whether or not the Matoran she had copied had any discs. Yes, yes it looked like they had. "Yup, I remembered them! Don't need anything, don't you worry about me..." She attempts to smile back, a notably weaker effort.

"To start things off," Rhupt says to kill an awkward lull from coming, "are there any masks or items that currently interest you? Consider it an early down payment for joining this venture with me."
