That's right! The archive is back! It's not complete in its current state, but I decided to share what I have so far. When I started creating it, I sectioned it off to match the headings in the History page on the wiki. Thus far I have completed sections 1-4, which cover the beginning of the RP, the devastation caused by the Marendar, the Battle of New Atero, and the period of quiet precluding the Shadow Invasion.
What does it mean for a section of the archive to be "completed"? I'm glad you asked, me! When I first created the archive, I saved each page of the original roleplay as a raw html file. This worked well enough for me, but it made the pages hard to share. Therefore, a completed page of the archive is shared as a pdf, which are easily shareable and accessible (even on phones!). The reason this has taken so long is that I only know how to save each page as a pdf individually. It's a huge time-sink, and I just have to take the time to power through.
You may also notice that certain pages are missing. Due to an error on my part, many pages weren't saved correctly. The good news is that I have a secondary archive I can pull those pages from. It just takes time for me to identify the pages and pull from that secondary archive. My plan was to do this once the archive as a whole was complete, which is why those pages are still missing.
How do things go from here on out? Another great question! I already have the archive sectioned up, it's simply a matter of converting them to pdfs and uploading them. Whenever I have some spare time I'll keep working, and upload sections as they complete. However, I'll add the missing pages to sections 1-4 before working on 5. I'll be sure to post here whenever I add something new, so keep an eye out.
As a fun little aside, it seems like we can comment on each page in dropbox. So not only will this be a complete archive, but it has the potential to be an annotated archive. Fun, right?
