Authors note: So, I got bored, and decided to write a new story. The entirety of Shadus' backstory. So, this is going to be really long, so expect breaks. Thank you for understanding.
"Dark...everything...is dark..."
The Turaga of the village, a Onu-Turaga of the name of Borko, was staring at the distant Volcano on the planet Bota-Magna. "Something is brewing...I sense...shadows brewing again...so soon..."
His mask of Clairvoyance shone, even with the intense sun beating down on them from underneath the trees. For weeks now, the Matoran had finally been able to venture above-ground, a blessing to most but it seemed more like a curse to Borko. The sun was so blinding, and everything so...green.
Most of all, there was that uneasy air to the outside...Something was stirring.
"Good afternoon." He suddenly said, surprising the two Toa approaching from behind while he meditated. The two exchanged a glance, and had they not been so used to the Turaga, would have been caught off-guard by the sudden greeting.
Their names were Shadus, a rare male Toa of Lightning, and Varius, Toa of Fire. The two had a long history with the Matoran. Their team had seemingly defeated Nyxos, the current threat to the dwellers of the planet. However, he had vowed he would return, so the team needed to be ready.
"Turaga Borko..." Shadus began. "We noticed that something is on your mind. You've been staring for hours into the distance."
The elder nodded. "You guessed correctly. Something is amiss. And I am afraid you may be too late to stop what has already happened..."
The two Toa glanced at each other. "Pardon? I don't follow..." Varius said.
"I am afraid...something dark is brewing nearby. Something is coming...a darkness we have yet to see, lurking in the shadows, is stalking our city, waiting to strike..."
The two suddenly were glaring with the same resolve. Varius stepped forward. "What? It's too soon! We've just beaten Nyxos! There's no way he could have regained his-"
"I do not speak of that madman!" Interrupted the Turaga. "I speak of a different threat. Something we have yet to see is brewing...And we may not be able to stop it..."
Varius was about to speak again when Shadus suddenly nodded, completely cutting him off. "Alright, Turaga. We understand. We'll be ready for whatever hits us."
The Turaga nodded, waving them away. "We'll see about that..."
Varius glared at Shadus as the two walked. "What in the world was that about? Why on earth was he so condescending?"
"Probably because he knows what he is talking about..." Shadus retorted.
Varius sighed. "But we beat Nyxos! You'd think that he'd have more faith in-"
"That would be his mask. Kind of gives him the right to know what he's talking about."
Varius breathed, trying not to let his anger get control of him. "You're...you're right. We need to be ready for whatever hits. We don't know what could happen. I'll have Viserus and Hydrana patrol the area for anything suspicious."
Shadus nodded. "That sounds like a plan."
"Hopefully the Turaga's wrong..."
"Knowing that Karzing mask..." Began Shadus. "I doubt it."
