"Recovering is generous, I think I'm getting worse..." The half-Skakdi groans, squeezing his eyes shut and rubbing his face with his non-saluting hand.
IC: Twelve waves a hand, throwing a bit of shade over Vezon's eyes. "Well, that's no good. From the sound of it, you're a star of the show today; Borom will want you in top condition."
As the shade comes over his eyes, Vezon blinks a few times and lowers his hands, nodding in thanks, "Yeah, that's what I'm worried about... How am I supposed to focus on beheading my enemies when I've got an earsplitting migrane? However, a wise man once told me that the best cure to a hangover is more drink. Therefore..."
Vezon produced a small flask from his pocket and chugged on its contents, before tossing it behind him and wiping away the excess with the back of his forearm, "Ah, that's the spot."
Muhahhahahahaa... AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! -A fun night out at the apocalypse
IC: Lync keeps the harpoon in position, boring a hole through the target with her eyes. She fires - once, twice, three times. Each shot goes through a different target, burning a hole through the center.
"Honestly?" she asks, not putting the weapon down. "Not a lot of 'between missions.' I take a day or two to recover, check in with Tathel, Kinaki or Bhadra if they're around. Then I'm off again. The Wastes are big, I'm small - not a lot of time to waste." She fires again, hitting another target.
“What do you look for out there? Heard any interesting rumors?”
IC: "Too many rumors. I've been looking for Borom. Taken the better part of two years now. And now Sansod's marching an army north to meet him." She sweeps her hand, the targets blowing and turning in the wind. She brings her hand back to the weapon, steadying it and taking a deep breath. In rapid succession she takes a shot at each target, her timing just right to catch each one as it's facing her and hit it right about center. She lets out her breath, letting the weapon drop from firing position.

IC: "I, uh..." Twelve raises a hand to stop the half-Skakdi, only to falter as he drinks away. His hand slowly lowers. "I wish you luck in your endeavors?"

"I just wish I felt better about it."
“Don’t know much about Borom, but I don’t think Sansod should have sent an army. They already tried that once and failed. Sometimes I think Sansod wants a boogyman like Borom out there as some kind of justification.”
“No one ever stood atop the heavens before. Not you, or I, or even the gods. But the unbearable vacancy of heavens throne ends now. From now on, I alone will stand at the top.”
IC: Rahzahkea takes the polearm and nods his thanks. "An interesting offering. What distinguishes this one from its counterparts?" He twirls the spear in one hand and examines it thoroughly. "Intricate design. What is it constructed out of?"
IC: "Ah, protodermis interwoven with exsidian for the handle, pure exsidian in the blade. It helps with the balance, according to the smith I commissioned, and having a bit more flex to the core helps with the durability."
The weapon twirls easily in his hand, the spearhead counterbalanced by something else on the other side. The pole forks into a u-shaped claw, almost like a trident or bident but not nearly as sharp. "Of course you have your standard spear tip, but the other end is a catcher claw, designed for catching onto... well, anything you wanted. Enemy weapons, legs, perhaps an object of interest flying overhead - the claw is imbued with just a touch of elemental magnetism to help out. Just focus on it, the way you would a Kanohi, and it'll activate. It's not too strong - not enough to grab things over range, for instance- but it should prove plenty useful." She smiles with pride.
IC: Rahzahkea twirls the spear once more, activating the claw and deactivating it a bunch of times. He smiles in spite of himself and lowers the weapon, nodding once again. "This should be useful indeed. Please pass my compliments to your smith. He does good work."
He half-turns toward Lync and Takua. "Takua, do you know where Vashari is now? He should be alerted of our new resources as well."

IC: "That's what the last war felt like. Things got tense, and people only cared about escalating from there." She shakes her head. "Borom is genuinely a problem, probably more than the Confederacy would've ever been, but this... Dunno, can't help but imagine what Kaeren or Tritus would think of a 'Toa Army'."
"But even then, it feels too easy. I've been doing this for years. Borom's been so careful. Hiding in the shadows, careful to avoid attention. Now he's marching bandits around all up and down the Wilds, practically begging for attention? How does that work?" Her hands clench around the harpoon. "Doesn't sit right with me."

"Merry Christmas to you too." Vezon smiles, snapping into another salute with no sense of irony, "And a happy new year."
IC: Twelve didn't know what that meant. He wasn't even sure that was the same language. But he smiles anyways. When it came to Vezon, that was all you could do, so he just smiled.
IC: Kirathel watches Seriac swing the staff, eyes critical as they usually are. "I didn't know Toa carried more than one tool. I suppose the Vanguard aren't...normal Toa though."
She clicks her teeth together. Even from this distance Seriac can see they're small and nasty needle-things, set in fleshy gray gums. The Ga-Toa turns her head a moment later to stare northward as they walk. "More weapons should be useful. Yes. Useful."
At least she can use it on herself if they get past us, Kirathel muses. Seriac didn't strike her as someone who'd be particularly dangerous in the hands of their enemy. But they had a way of making people crueler. Best not give them any more ammunition. "Tell us if you see any movement, even if its something small," the Ga-Toa says sleepily. "These zones your "AEGIS" friends found are quite odd. When I was with them I thought for sure we were underground somewhere."
A rahi bird flies past Shadus and into a nearby tree, perching and staring at him. It lets out a hoarse cry.
IC: "Oh, well it's not really more weapons; I'm just training with the staff, so I have my old sword here for back- BIRD!" Seriac swivels, bringing her shield up and pointing her staff at the creature. She glances from Kirakira back to the bird, then over to Shadus.
IC: Kirathel glances at the bird and blinks slowly. She yawns loudly and her teeth shine in the sunlight. "I don't know. It's not one of them. Maybe its some big scary predator with poison or something."
The Ga-Toa finally stops yawning, continuing her trudge with the same lack of enthusiasm. She seems oddly unbothered by their task or perhaps just good at hiding it.
The sun is shining, although the brightness is somewhat dampened by the tree line. As Shadus mused, there are indeed many deep shadows cast by the thick forestation, though not quite enough for them to not make their way forward. The chirp and hum of Rahi is very dim, excepting the one annoying bird that keeps crying. Some vines rustle underfoot, and a light breeze shuffles through the trees. A few symbols are carved into the trees they pass. Nothing particularly ominous or eye-catching, mostly Agori and Glatorian names.
“Don’t know much about Borom, but I don’t think Sansod should have sent an army. They already tried that once and failed. Sometimes I think Sansod wants a boogyman like Borom out there as some kind of justification.”

Takua’s eyes widen. “Lync, that’s a distraction technique. Whatever he’s doing could be going down soon.” He holds up a silver coin in his left hand, using to catch the light. “Show them left hand, so they don’t see the right.” Down below in his right hand was the energy gun. To illustrate his point he pulls the trigger at Lync’s gut, nothing coming from the gun of course, but it makes a click. “We did things like that all the time to steal from enemy ships. I think we should tell Sansod to put up an alert.”
“No one ever stood atop the heavens before. Not you, or I, or even the gods. But the unbearable vacancy of heavens throne ends now. From now on, I alone will stand at the top.”

IC: A small group of figures comes up the mountain pass, approaching the north gate to the city. Terenoa casts a glance around at her friends, trying to hide her apprehension.
"Well, we finally made it back." The past week and a half had been a wild gukko chase, a fruitless attempt to find some lead on the fugitives they had left the city in pursuit of. At least they all came back alive, she supposed.
“Well, that was an astounding waste of what little time me and this world have left.” Vavo growled. His mutations had worsened, dark veins snaking up the left side of his neck and up to his eye. His voice was also much more hoarse than it was previously.

"But we're here now, and I'm sure the Vanguard can help you with your problem, okay? With any luck, a few extra days won't have mattered."

IC: Lync tenses, instinctively recoiling from the shot that wasn't there. She lets out a long sigh.
"Look, you're probably right. But it's not like Sansod would listen to me. Don't know if you noticed, but the powers that be don't think very highly of me. It's not like I have a direct radio straight into the New Order's ear-" She stops herself, gears whirring in her brain. "Well. I guess we could talk to Kinaki. He can probably get someone to listen, right?"
She sweeps the discarded chain weapon up with a gust of wind, catching it in her hand. "At least it's worth a try."

Mokuzai frowns, glancing between the others and trying to find a way to defuse the situation. We can’t leave on bad terms, especially when this guy is on his death bed
Finding himself a bit worse for wear as well, Mokuzai gives a light gesture towards Vavo. “I hope we can see you in better spirits soon, Vavo. If you want me to pay you back for your time in the future, I wouldn’t mind.”

IC: "Oh I have no idea," Huringa says to Improbus with disturbing cheerfulness. "The emotive capacity of MU Inhabitants only seems like it would hinder the baseline goal. If the behavior of the Makuta was any indication, it's a wonder it didn't turn out worse. Maybe it was a glitch in the programming. Or maybe one of them took direction action, though for what reason I can't imagine-"
"-and we are almost perfectly acceptably decently ok in terms of the aforementioned very important wiring," the Kestora rattles off as they change topic with impressive speed. "I'm taking stock of it again but so far all the routing is functional. Maybe it could be prettied up, but it should work."
IC: Borom nods. "Be sure it does; our lives depend on it." He steps past the Kestora, until he's standing in front of Improbus. He examines the mechanized psychopath intently; he had never seen that happen before. Today wasn't a good day for it.
IC: Improbus’s head snaps up and stares at Borom. His mask slowly shifts into a slight smile, the whirring sound beneath it as the broken pieces of his face shift creating an uneasy sound. “…Yes?”
