“I think we need a city-wide alert. I don’t like what Lync told me.”
IC: Kinaki stares at Takua. “What could Lync have said that would call for a city-wide alert? I can assure you any threats she made were probably sarcastic.”
Takua breathes in. “Take a good look at this shiny coin.” He holds up his silver coin again.
“No one ever stood atop the heavens before. Not you, or I, or even the gods. But the unbearable vacancy of heavens throne ends now. From now on, I alone will stand at the top.”
IC: Vako fiddles with his hands, overwhelmed by all the tools surrounding him. Eventually, he approaches a one-handed axe and weighs it in his hands. "Light..." he says quietly. A layer of ice grows on the weapon's handle as the gears in the Toa's head start to turn. "I have wanted to try this." Vako concentrates and throws the axe. A few seconds afterwards, it stops mid-air as he tries to control the ice like he did with his knives earlier. It shakes as Vako struggles to balance the weight, but eventually it comes flying back to him! He shrieks and ducks as the axe is hurled over his head and hits the wall behind him. It's a start.
OOC: I'm not sure if that's a stretch, I can retcon this if its too much or anything
OOC: I don’t see a problem considering you’re pretty trustworthy, but I’m not the GM. IC: Tuhi dives for cover too even though he’s probably too short to get hit anyways. He stares at a spot on the wall and not at Pheore or Syreio. “Whoops…”
OOC: Yeah, that seems perfectly fine by me.
IC: Pheore and Syreio stare at the wall, then at Vako. Syreio pulls out a tablet, noting something down, while Pheore holds a hand in front of her mask, hiding a chuckle.
"Good idea," Pheore says, "just need to have a bit more confidence in your abilities." She zips across the room, picking up the axe and tossing it to herself. "Want to try again?" She holds up the axe, ready to throw.
IC: Kinaki stares at Takua. “What could Lync have said that would call for a city-wide alert? I can assure you any threats she made were probably sarcastic.”
Takua breathes in. “Take a good look at this shiny coin.” He holds up his silver coin again.
IC: "Takua thinks Borom's doing some sort of feint," Lync says, shrugging. "It makes sense, but I dunno if it makes 'tell everyone in the city to duck and cover' kind of sense."
Borom ignores Huringa, staring Improbus down head-on. "You began to stutter, did not answer my question, and seem to have amnesia for the entire affair. Tell me, is that how you intend to function?"
IC: The pieces that make up the bottom half of Improbus’s face start to vibrate. “Could you repeat the question, sir?”
IC: "I asked you how the machine was, and how your final checks were proceeding." Borom speaks slowly, carefully announcing each word.

“If only we had a future…” Vavo mumbled. He slapped the infected side of his face, trying to get a hold of himself, before he turned to the others and smiled weakly “I’m sorry. You all seem like decent people…I just wish we had met under better circumstances. I think I should split off from this merry band and find a way to cure myself. Anyone know someone in the city who could deal with this? Failing that, where can I find this time’s AEGIS?”
IC: Terenoa grimaces. "I'm sorry you have to carry the weight of doom on your shoulders at all times. If anyone can help..." She sighs. "I'm not overly familiar, but the Vanguard have been dealing with matters similar to your infection for a few weeks now. I think they have an ally who has some expertise on the subject. Given how the New Order treats deviance, the rampant amorality of Nekra Corp, and your own complicated relationship with AEGIS... I hate to say it, but the Vanguard might be your best bet."
She nods to herself. "They have a base in the Ice District here, not too far inside the walls. I can show you there; I have a friend I need to check in on anyways. If the Vanguard can't help you, well..." She turns, pointing out a monolithic tower that dominates the skyline, even compared to the knowledge towers stretching overhead on the ridge. "Nekra Tower. As far as I know, AEGIS still uses part of the building as their staging ground for affairs within the city. That would be the first place to go if the Vanguard can't help."
She looks between the two. "Does that sound acceptable?"

“It’s feint if I ever saw one. Blow up a couple of barges so the guards go to deal with it, and sneak in and steal everything you could carry when their back’s are turned.”

IC: "Oh, well it's not really more weapons; I'm just training with the staff, so I have my old sword here for back- BIRD!" Seriac swivels, bringing her shield up and pointing her staff at the creature. She glances from Kirakira back to the bird, then over to Shadus.
IC: Kirathel glances at the bird and blinks slowly. She yawns loudly and her teeth shine in the sunlight. "I don't know. It's not one of them. Maybe its some big scary predator with poison or something."
The Ga-Toa finally stops yawning, continuing her trudge with the same lack of enthusiasm. She seems oddly unbothered by their task or perhaps just good at hiding it.
The sun is shining, although the brightness is somewhat dampened by the tree line. As Shadus mused, there are indeed many deep shadows cast by the thick forestation, though not quite enough for them to not make their way forward. The chirp and hum of Rahi is very dim, excepting the one annoying bird that keeps crying. Some vines rustle underfoot, and a light breeze shuffles through the trees. A few symbols are carved into the trees they pass. Nothing particularly ominous or eye-catching, mostly Agori and Glatorian names.
IC: Seriac lowers her guard sheepishly. "Oh. Right."
She remains at the front of the group, using her quarterstaff like a walking stick as they travel. She hums softly to herself, keeping an eye on the trees as she walks. She leans over a little, slowing down for a moment to read one of the names.
IC: "Takua thinks Borom's doing some sort of feint," Lync says, shrugging. "It makes sense, but I dunno if it makes 'tell everyone in the city to duck and cover' kind of sense."

IC: Kinaki cocks an eye. “So do you want me to report it or not?” He barks a bit louder than he meant to.
IC: Lync's eyes narrow. "Hey, Takua, can you give us a moment?"
Takua breathes out, before taking his pack takes him off of the ground and up to the upper level.

IC: Lync flashes him an apologetic smile, tapping her new harpoon on the ground. Once he's out of sight, she turns back to Kinaki, her expression softening.
Vavo nods “I appreciate everything you’ve done. Thank you. Lead the way.”
IC: Terenoa nods, and turns back down the trail.
Five minutes later finds them in the shadow of the wall, looking up at the guard posts at the top. Terenoa waves, waiting for the guards to see them.
Vavo waits patiently, a lot less irritable now he was partially back in control, and wishing he had some way of covering up his infection. “Should have stolen a napkin at the inn or something…” he mumbled to himself.

IC: Kinaki lets out a sigh and seems to whither. “To tell the truth, I can’t find any solace. Part of me hates that I’m back here instead of out with the rest of the army. Another part of me remembers though…the things I did, and saw. I am afraid to go out there and do it all again, and yet I am ashamed of that fear.” He reaches out a hand to brace him against the nearby wall, as if he might topple. “Borom—” Kinaki’s voice catches on a lump in his throat, which he swallows quickly. “Borom is not like the others we fought. Maybe I’m paranoid, and he can’t possibly hope to succeed where everyone else failed, but I’ve heard the legends, and you know him better than anyone. Tathel and Bhadra, my brothers, they’re marching against him and I’m not—” He shuts his mouth like a trap. “I’m sorry. I have no right to be this way. We fought the same war.”
Come! Come and listen, my friends. Listen as I regale you with the next chapter in the legend of the Bionicle.
IC: Twelve didn't know what that meant. He wasn't even sure that was the same language. But he smiles anyways. When it came to Vezon, that was all you could do, so he just smiled.
Vezon smiled back, visibly relaxing as the buzz slowly begins to kick in, dulling his senses.
IC: Twelve gives him a pat on the shoulder, moving on to the next group of soldiers. As soon as he leaves, however, another shadow falls over him. Someone has appeared behind him, without making a sound.
