She makes her way to the thrusters and regenerates any of the small Meteor damage.
Complete.
Kestora 46 examines the outdated sensor dishes out of habit. They are intact and funcional.
A frozen chunk of EP passes by just slow enough to pass through the velocity filter, and knocks the Kestora too far for her tether to hold onto the ship. This time, she truly does drift out to open space...
An energy overwhelms her in the form of a lightning bolt.

An energy overwhelms her in the form of a lightning bolt.
She has a new form, one resembling that of a toa, but is yet to awaken.
By pure coincidence, an Olmak portal appears and spits out a kanohi dragon which quickly suffocates in the vacuum of space, but at the speed Kestora 46 -or rather, the Kestoa- was trveling, she was just able to overcome the jets of air flowing from the dimensional gateway and arrive on the other side moments before it closed.

The Red Star starts to creek and moan as its starts to change.....
legionaries empty the EP into space, and prepare to install a nuclear fusion reactor Luke those on their ships
The Legionaries find that it's a lot more difficult to empty the EP than it would seem. Especially since it wasn't made to be easily ejected and the fact that it lashes out at them, changing them and the star into whatever it sees fit.

The legionaries have made major modifications to the Red Star since taking over, and have experimented with the EP. There's no reason why they couldn't get rid of it

If that was the case, they should have replaced the engine already. Either way, it holds and changes the environment so that it isn't easily ejected.
When in doubt, read the instructions.

while damage is done to the red star and to legionaries, it is eventually expelled

"I'm back!!!" Kestora 46 shouts, emerging from a portal. "Oh, yeah, I forgot you lived here too. Those injuries look painful, mind if I take a look?"
"Let me know if you need help." She returns to her work, and finds that although Gahlox is dead, her signal is not transmitting. "She must be damaged beyond harvesting condition. What about D'rin? He has been dead for a while, but his signal is still transmittting..." Kestora 46 begins building an evolving toa of plantlife.

The process is difficult, for this was a complex toa made by Artakha, but progress is still made.

Complete. D'rin is uploaded to the new body, which is almost a perfect mirror to his nearly evolved old body.
"A simple answer is because we wish to seek your assistance. We are very aware of the intelligence of your race. We are collecting the Great Beings and bringing them here."
