Carving Fields
"...Of spite they hated. Cleansing of the world they shall bring, for they are the purification vats of the universe. Don't fret or worry, for we are the blessed. The Great Spirit reveals what we cannot know, for who else can see the future? Indeed, for only he knows all and has warned us to prepare."
Tyirld smiles to herself and almost hugs the scroll. This piece came out only the day prior and she almost had it perfectly memorized already. She did stumble once or twice, having to correct herself, but almost there!
"So what did you think of that one?" She happily asks as she opens her eyes before being taken back. "Uh?!"
Tink, tink, tink! Amra stops breaking off the last piece of stone and turns his head towards Tyirld. He was trying to decided how not to tell her that he wasn't listening again, but seeing her sudden reaction, he jerks his head back towards his work. He startles himself and falls off, scooting himself back in a panicked fashion until he bumps into Tyirld.
The two stare at the statue. One part was some insectiod monster, a round beast easily as tall as Matoran with a snarling face and weird shovel hands. Something was being launched from one of these shovels and appeared to be melting away the other figure, a Toa. Part of his chest was already dissolved and he was gripping his mask in what appeared to be screaming pain, bent backwards.
After their moment of silence, Amra is the first to mutter out something. "I, uh, what? How did.....Wasn't I carving a Hau entrance?"
"...Are you going to get in trouble?" Tyirld has having troulbe to find something to say.
"...............probably........Maybe we can fix this? Do you know how to make sticky Protodermis?"
She perks up, "Uh, yes! I do! ...I think. I did learn about it once, I'm pretty sure I can make some. I'll be right back!"
Tyirld runs off to gather some resources and after watching her go, Amra stares back at the statue. He shakes his head of the thought and collects the pieces he chipped away.

Tyirld and Amra stare in silence at the hole in the ground were the statue once was. She did make some sticky Protodermis and Amra was able to put the slab back together, but after a minute or so the chemical mixture became a violent acid and melted the entire thing. Amra himself was almost melted if it weren't for Tyirld pulling him off the slab.
"So," Tyirld says, breaking the silence. Her voice sounds almost sore, like she was holding back tears and caused her throat to swell up. "What do we do now? Can I get you another rock?"
Amra just continues to stand there, staring at the hole. The only thing that was constantly going through his mind was that his life was finally over. There was no way he could come back from this! Rahi-bones! That's what he's going to become! Rahi-bones! So very, very!!!
He's finally jerked back to reality as Tyirld violently shakes Amra, screaming at him. "We've got to go! Come on! We're going to get killed!"
Amra was confused by this, he already knew he was dead, but why would she also die? It was then that he noticed the dust cloud heading right for them. This was no sand storm, it was some herd of Rahi charging right for them! Which ones it was, Amra wasn't sure, but he didn't want to stick around and find out!
"OH! Yeah, let's g--OOF!" Amra falls and hits the ground hard, almost pulling Tyirld down with him. She helps him back up and the two looks at the chain holding Amra down. If Tyirld wasn't in a full panic before, she was now. There was nothing there to remove the chain imprisoning Amra and even if she could make more acid, it wouldn't work in time to save him. Defeated, Tyirld just collapses on the ground, wailing as death approaches. Amra screams for help, for anyone to save them.

Both Matoran felt a cool wind overhead. Then, instantaneously, the entire plane before them erupted into flame. The Rahi were immediately engulfed in the explosion, ripping through their ranks and completely decimating the front lines with a single blow.
The chain link a couple inches away from Amra's foot suddenly grows red-hot and soft- close enough for him to feel the heat but enough to hurt him.
Far, far away stands their savior, surveying the scene below. He stood atop a statue over a thousand feet away, almost impossible to spot from that distance. His face was completely obscured behind a mask... one separate from his kanohi. It was impossible to know what expression lay beneath, nor what emotions he felt as he looked down upon the scene. Instead, all that could be observed was a muffled 'hm' uttered under his breath.

The Rahi turn out to be Dikapi, their Masks of Speed having been partially activated. With so many of them dead, the Rahi look around to see what or who caused the explosion, zipping around the place.
Amra stops screaming when he feels the heat. With the metal soft enough, he pulls on the chain and it shatters. He grabs the sobbing Tyirld and runs for somewhere safe, anywhere safe.

Softly, Pyrosk hums under his breath. Systematically, he used a combination of releasing gas, spreading it quickly with his mask of air, and then detonating it with a tiny bit of heat to attack the Dikapi one-by-one.

As they fall, one finally notices Pyrosk's location. Suddenly, all the ones remaining charge at full Kakama speed for the Toa, running up the statue.

"Finally..." he mutters.
He tosses out a small container attached to his hip down at the Rahi, simultaneously using a burst of air via his mask to blow him backwards away from the statue. Once the canister hits the ground, it explodes, creating a cloud of chemicals that blind the rahi and slowly eat away their armor.
He takes a moment while they're still disoriented to surround them with some more flammable gas, ready to be ignited.

They scream in pain and most of them fall off the statue. They don't pursue.

Pyrosk lights a tiny spark amidst the gas surrounding them. Immediately, they are engulfed in an explosion that tears them apart.
He lands back on the statue, surveying the landscape to see if any Rahi still remain and if the Matoran are safe.

It would seem the rest of the Matoran in that area have gotten to safety and all the Rahi in this section have been defeated.
Satisfied, Pyrosk slides down the statue, using a cushion of air to slow his descent. Upon landing, he walks over to one of the Rahi's corpses. Intrigued by its ability to use its mask, he kneels down and begins examining the kanohi.

It's damaged from his attack, but it's still clearly infected. Aside from that, Pyrosyk can sense that the mask is powerless.
Bakud searches for a somewhat secluded area to illegally park his boat, and walks ashore.
A wandering Protodrake notices him and decides the Matoran would be delicious and swoops down to pick Bakud up.
Bakud notices the change in the air currents and the soft sounds the Rahi makes, figuring there must be some sort of creature or entity approaching him. Looking and acting oblivious, he charges up a Rhotuka.
