Storm clouds gather over Spherus Magna. As the New Order’s benevolent facade starts to crack, the infamous Skrall general Borom gathers a horde of the spited and the nefarious. The dark sky is ready to break and drown the world in havoc.
In New Atero, Caybluk’s guide Vohman has led the disgraced general into Onu-Koro to find a contact who can help them locate Borom’s camp. If they join forces, Borom’s army will become that much more powerful, further stacking the odds against New Atero.
While Caybluk could be a powerful asset, Borom’s forces are already on the move. Zhiode leads Improbus, Jinrek, an alternate Vezon and Venti’s followers into the heart of the wreckage of the Red Star, where they will battle the Kestora and their forces to once and for all decide the fate of the advanced technology that they guard.
What of the Vanguard? Shadus, recovered from his last battle, has returned more determined than ever to rescue his love and the rest of his captured brothers and sisters. Terenoa is ready for action as well, but her alignment with the Vanguard is still in question; she is preparing to venture into New Atero’s underworld with Mozukai to see if they can find out what happened to Vezon. Bio-Venture and Lien are adjusting to life in New Atero with help from Vashari, becoming the newest additions to the Vanguard. The Vagabond has gone his own way, seeking work and equipment in the city, and it looks like the New Order may have some for him. Kinaki and Pheore submitted reports to the New Order and Nekra Corp. respectively, prompting Sansod to summon the Vanguard and the Knights of Vashari to the Temple of Light for a mission. Petram and Ticeli, once heroes with heads held high, are now at odds with the law and forced to seek refuge among those who may very well want them dead along with their new allies Reave and Kay-Rith, while the New Order searches for them in the tunnels of Onu-Koro.
Speaking of trouble with the law, Hanah will soon be brought before the Inquisitors and the rest of the New Order’s justices to be evaluated, with punishment—or more accurately spoken, attempts at punishment—to be decided upon if found guilty.
New friends and enemies join the battle, while former allies are put at odds with each other and old foes are forced to work together. Banners fly and warhorns sound as once more the fate of Spherus Magna is tossed skyward for any to seize. Will the Vanguard and Knights use their reputations to protect Hanah from Malvo’s vengeful calls for restitution? Or will the New Order, having grown in power since Lync was brought before their judgement, carry out justice in the way they see fit? Will Petram, Ticeli, Reave and Kay-Rith escape New Atero, or be captured by the mysterious Twilight Order? What is this mission Sansod wants the Vanguard to carry out? How will Bio, Lien and the Vagabond choose to act in these troubling times? Will Terenoa and Mozukai find the Vezon they seek, and if they do, will they like what they find? Will the Vanguard rescue their captive allies, or be once again thwarted by the mysterious Blue-Eyed Specter and their dimension-hopping minions? Will Caybluk unite with Borom; will fate or old rivalries keep them separated? Will Zhiode and her followers exterminate the Kestora, or are they like so many others who journeyed to the Red Star: already dead? Most importantly, will the Toa Army vanquish Borom as they have so many of the New Order’s enemies, or will a new Skrall Empire be built on the remains of the Matoran and their great city?
Come! Come and listen, my friends. Listen as I regale you with the next chapter in the legend of the Bionicle.
