Velike
Spirax
Tekan
Ibriki
Rakya
Name: Velike
Species: Matoran
Element: Fire
Gender: Male
Kanohi: Powerless Huna
Appearance:
Powers, Weapons, and Abilities: Velike is nigh-always seen with his spear on him, be that strapped to his back or in his grip he rarely lets it out of his sight. After some study it was discovered Velike's spear is a protosteel forged weapon, allowing for its nigh-unbreakable status, if an archaically designed one, reducing some of the benefits of such a weapon... it does have surprisingly intricate carvings across its blade.
Along with this he usually carries a basic survival pack on himself, small unfoldable tent, lightstone, etc. Not counting the four heat stone fragments he has embedded in each of his limbs.
Ability wise Velike is for the most part your standard Matoran, no elemental powers, no usage of great Kanohi, fairly weak until it comes down to his fighting style.
While the tales of his island may be false he speaks the truth when he talks of his training as one of the best fighters. He is highly trained in spear combat, being able to counter, jab, roll and otherwise move and fight with ease when using his spear.
He's also highly honor bound, highly restraining his actual potential by mentally forcing himself to restrict his actions and fighting style to match, from not striking an unarmed opponent, to restricting his own anger to dangerous levels. Of course, this doesn't mean he doesn't have his own levels of deviancy upon it.
He's always on the lookout for loopholes, such as having his beliefs insulted, an act which he can register as a strike upon his honor, thusly allowing him to strike the one who dealt it. Usually with a fist at that.
He usually refers to himself as a Va-Matoran, which can lead to questions, questions he loves to answer and others regret to ask when he begins to speak of his islands worships.
Personality: While he is not the most intelligent and does have his.. undesirable traits, such as continuously attempting to get others to join his ‘Cult’ of Time, and strange beliefs and habits, such as his odd daily prayers which consist of activating his armour modifications and praying to time while standing still for around half an hour (all of which he will argue is necessary, and will be willing to attack others over if they attempt to interrupt it or argue with him over), obsession with claiming time as a deity and tales of his ‘island’ owning and worshiping what has been gathered to be an item in the recreation of a Vahi's shape, or at least what they believe such to look like
But, despite all this, he is one of the better guards/hunters one will meet and is quite willing to do any work of him despite possible danger, even going so far as to sacrifice himself for others.
Background: Velike is, and always has been, an 'interesting' Matoran since his first appearance.
Much about him, from his strange armour modifications to his strange beliefs and past (his outrageous claims have so far been waved of as the ravings of a damaged mind) are unknown.
He just appeared one day, washed up one the shore of one of the farther out inhabited islands, his spear held in his fist in a death like grip. After his discovery he was brought to the nearest village for healing. Upon his awakening he questioned where he was, talked of a need to return to his island, and ranted about attacks by ‘shadowed enemies of time’.
Eventually he was calmed down and more of his story was deciphered, from what has been gathered, according to his claims his island was attacked by some kind of Makuta, which was most likely just some kind of large sea-faring rahi when his lack of knowledge on the Makuta are taken into account.
During the attack he was apparently knocked off his island and swept away, which has lead to the assumption that it managed to also damage his mind, confusing facts and causing for him to confuse his past with his current fantasy.
He has also claimed that the being was most likely sent there to remove them due to their statuses as Time's chosen, which was disregarded along with his strange belief in time as a deity as a result of his mental trauma. It was assumed the combination of his oddly obssessive knowledge of time related information, the possibility of his island having mask-smith that had heard of the rumored Vahi and probably spoke of it, and Velike confusingly time with Mata-nui to strengthen his repression’s and just a love of Myths and stories.
It’s quite believable he comes from another island, and somehow managed to wash up upon that one, despite his rather insane sounding claims, due to the obvious lack of nativity his form carries, from armour, to build and mind, there is no possibility he was ever from most of the known Matoran inhabited islands.
He left soon after repaying the village, earning passage towards the nearest island. Since then he has taken to wandering islands, working at villages that will take him in as he searches for information of his island, and attempts to spread his beliefs.
His odd talks of his island and their beliefs actually care more truth than many, if not all actually realize.
Velike originally came from an island that became known as Va-Nui by its inhabitants, one of the regions within the unexplored/farther out reaches of the Matoran universe, and one that was highly isolated for centuries and more.
When the Matoran of Va-Nui first awoke they were lost, confused, unknowing of much of the world around them and the existence of others besides the few rahi of the island they were forced to fight for survival.
They had barely any knowledge of the Matoran universe outside of their island besides small stories, memories of tales and legends of hero’s that wielded powers unimaginable and gods unseen.
And that is all they knew until the first items washed ashore. They were small trinkets, boxes containing weathered tablets, pieces of ships. From those few items their knowledge grew, from the discovery of others existence to even more tales and legends.
While much of what they learned was not complete, due to damage of the tablets, they learned much, especially of the tales of items with the power of time, if not fully explaining what they could do. It wasn’t until a carved image of a mask design, and what it was supposed to do, washed up that they truly started to veer away from the norm of their kind, beginning the birth of what was known as the Cult of Time.
It was small at first, whispers of the beauty of the mask, the power that it must wield to be connected to a force such as time, a force they had already believed to be all but stoppable. Then it grew, slowly they started to believe that if something so powerful could be wielded as it was that it must retain some form of sentience, the items they had gained obviously gifts to teach them, the items vessels of it’s will, soon becoming a belief that they had been assigned to worship it, to protect the knowledge and share it with a hero, one who was worthy.
As time went on they even built a temple in times honor, their Turaga’s the leaders of prayers and voices of time, their greatest welders assigned to creating ‘copies’ of times vessels, wielded in ceremony as an honor, and their names changed to honor it's greatest vessel, the Vahi, the mask of Time. Even their armour was modified to represent some aspect, such as with Velike’s chest plate.
The few copies attempted were made only for their leaders to wear in belief that during prayer it would better stregnthen their connection as they repayed time with a gift of our own given.
And so it went, the beliefs, rules, and religion itself growing in strength and definition as they veered even farther and farther away from that which they were supposed to worship, Mata-Nui.

Spirax
Name:Spirax
Species: Toa
Element: Air, Shadow (40%)
Gender: Male
Kanohi: Huna, Noble Jutlin shaped, green and black
Appearance: Spirax is a tall, spindly and thin individual, while the normal height for a Toa he always seems to be taller due to his build. His color scheme consistis of black, dark blue and light and jungle green colors, his armour providing just enough protection to be effective but light enough to allow for him to quickly move and maneuver, both in the ground and in the air.
His wings are large, nearly matching his body in height and extending in a width much bigger than his own. They were originally feathered but since his shadow infection have become leathery and bat like, giving him a more intimidating effect. His hands and toes were also affected, becoming claw and spike tipped, his teeth becoming fanged, his color and mask changing, the black and blue forming, and his mask changing shape to that of a green and black noble Jutlin, still retaining its original power of a Huna.
Powers, Weapons, and Abilities: Weapon wise Spirax owns a gun of sorts, using his own elemental energy as ammunition and condensing it into a more physical form. Otherwise he owns his 'knives'.
Spirax has your usual Toa of air elemental abilities, mild wind control, which he uses to help direct his flight, and a natural ability to read the wind. It's his other abilities that are more unexpected, from his unusual healing rate and durability to his even more unusual constantly forming ‘growths’ across his body, all caused from the experiments run on him.
To put it simply, durability wise Spirax is a literal tank despite his thin build, he can shrug off many attacks (well less in the terms of the physical damage itself than it is the reaction), from being stabbed straight through an area such as his , to losing a limb itself he will barely react, seeming to not feel it. While that would usually mean one's nerves are shot or extremely damaged his are entirely fine, his bodies just been trained to not react to much higher levels of pain.
His healing rate is also incredibly high, fast enough that even if he lost a limb long enough ago for the wound to have scarred over so long as he can get access to a 'fresh' one and reopens the wound, the arm will reconnect and, so long as it can be kept stable for a couple days, will also allow the muscles and other organic connections to regrow, still taking a week at minimum. If that wasn't strange enough, contained within his internal structure, buried beneath his skin and flesh are multiple connection ports and nodes that can be used to attach entirely artificial replacements, ranging from limb connections to nearly all of his internal organs and bones having the ability to be replaced or 'reattached' similarly to his limbs.
He is quite stealthy, whenever his erraticness and distractibilty don't get in the way... which it nigh-always does. That combined with his mask power and intelligence allows for him to act as an incredible thief.
Of course the strangest and most unexpected ability caused from the experiments are the 'growths' he has constantly forming and growing across his body, small metal spikes that form at random across his body and continue to grow out. While its unusual yes it can just be written off as a simple, pointless mutation, while in fact it's actually his most useful ability and provider of his favourite weapons.
and typically only weapons, having a high tendency to forget to use his gun or Huna powers in battle.
The growths are in fact crude, removable, protodermis knives/knife shaped spikes, growing from his skeleton.
Now there are two ways this could go, it could either just be written of as Makuta caused mutation, which can probably be given a more in-depth explanation if asked, or it could run off of an interesting usage of the regeneration kanoka.
That idea works like this, the Makuta who experimented on Spirax replaced his entire skeleton, piece by piece, with one made from the same material as a regeneration Kanoka, welding it together and thus making it into what's basically a giant regeneration Kanoka.
And as I've realized (with some help) Kanoka don't need to be disk shaped to work, that shape was just the one that provided the quickest movement and farthest flight, thus making it the conventional shape, and all a Kanoka needs to release its energy is some form of movement and physical contact, which, going by this idea, gives it infinite of both.
Along with this the original skeleton would've had the knives, each made from normal protodermis, welded across the pieces in the same way they currently regrow, registering the knives as a piece of his skeleton to regenerate when removed.
This makes it so he can near infinitely generate the knives basically everywhere across his body, allowing him to essentially become a moving knife pile (i.e. the original placement of the knives (there were a lot)), given enough time. Of course they rarely ever get anywhere near that level, Spirax constantly using them as throwing knives, to which his aim, while decreased due to his mental state is still quite good, most of his throws and gunshots at least glancing across their mark, trading them, giving them away and being disarmed.
He rarely tends to have have more than 3-5 of them on him at a time, and those he tends to use quickly.
His regeneration rate for the knives is about 3-3 1/2 per day, because even with his own energetic movements he barely generates even a percentage of the energy a Kanoka disk will, if one was to observe him as he slept/rested/whatever they do, they'd note that the growth slows down considerably. But does make it so that his Kanoka-ized skeleton will take an unbelievably longer time to decay/run out of energy before that of a standard Kanoka disk, both due to it's greater size, and the difference in output.
Either way both would make it so 'new' arms would slowly be adapted/mutated to match up with his original, unless it was a 'prosthetic', a limb that's visibly not natural i.e. fully robotic. Which he can use due to the connection nodes/sockets within his shoulders and hips
Weakness wise his biggest would be his own distractible nature, quickly followed by the lack of strength his light build gives him, and the ease with which he can be knocked out, even if for what usually only amounts to a short bit of time. Even a hit of moderate strength to the head has shown to be able to knock him out, which also influenced his fighting style of flying above foes and using his knives as long ranged weapons when fighting.
He will still fight close range, preferring to use his main style to distract and confuse the enemy before quickly swooping in, being fairly agile in both mid air and ground combat, if less so on the latter. Usually latching onto an enemy, clawing, tearing, stabbing and biting at any exposed wires, motors, flesh and/or other effective areas he can get at in an attempt to weaken them and get access to their more protected internal parts, which usually results in him being quickly thrown off or throwing himself off to fly away before too much damage can usually be done to either his opponent or himself.
Also he does have a fairly surprising (for his mentality) skill as a technician/roboticist, being able to build complete prosthetics, and once a robot, albeit requiring a large amount of usable components and scraps, if usually just because his knowledge generally centers around how to stick stuff together, and what stuff is designed to be stuck together. This does make it so what he makes rarely works as it should, containing multiple glitches, a high possibility to explode, and sometimes gaining some kind of corrupted sentience or just plain going rampant, if having the capacity for it, such as with the one robot he 'fixed' that proceeded to attempt to go on a homicidal rampage after he finished it, before being stopped before it could do much more than spook the nearby inhabitants by his current travel 'buddy', Tekan.
Personality: The best words to be used to describe Spirax as are, maniacal, erratic, thieving, childish, excitable and damaged, because these are exactly what he is, just with a touch of maliciousness, malcontent and good portion of prankster like mischievousness thrown in.
While he wasn't always like this, he's been changed into such long enough that to him it's how he remembers himself as always being, and really there's no one left who could remind him otherwise, anyone from his past before his shadow infection long dead.
Background: Spirax's Toa-ization and mutations happened a few years before the full war between Makuta and Toa began.
Originally, before he had become a toa and was later infected, he was your average Le-Matoran, excitable, adventurous and with a touch of a prankster and trouble maker, while still very serious in his duties, and he continued to stay the same as a Toa, if just becoming more serious in his duty to protect the Matoran of his village than he was with his original duties. He had been chosen to become a Toa by his villages Turaga in a time of crisis, the rahi had recently started getting more aggressive, some actively hunting down villagers and attacking their village, some new apparently mutated species also popping up and rumors of two shadowy Titans seen around the jungle, reports of them capturing rahi and possibly villagers themselves.
The Turaga considered Spirax the best choice, having been holding onto a Toa stone for just such a reason, Spirax while a troublemaker was also one of their best long range hunters, stealthy, incredible aim, and knowing nearly the entire jungle and its fastest routes like the back of his hand due to his exploratory nature, while his strength could be a problem, being weak and thin even as a Matoran, his Turaga figured the boost he got from turning into a Toa would help to even it out along with his abilities.
After that it appeared their problem had been solved, Spirax dealing with the rahi with relative ease and discovering the reason for most of the rahi’s agitation, many wearing strange, corroded kanohi, the shadow Titans having not been seen since he became a Toa, the mutations appearing less. It appeared they had nothing left to worry about, at least before the Rahkshi appeared. There were only a few, most seeming clunky and imperfect, like they were prototypes being tested, still managing to quickly rip through the village, Spirax managing to stop a few but being injured himself, escaping with any Matoran that still lived. By the time he disabled all of the beings the rest of the Matoran were dead, Spirax the lone survivor and in his mind a failure to everything a Toa stood for, that was the beginning of his descent into the Toa he is now known as and the first of many events that broke him, shattering another part of his mind each time. He became focused on one thing and one thing only, revenge for his villages death, already knowing that the shadowy Titans must have been behind the attacks and figuring they must have had some hidden base on the island, hunting for it.
While he did find it, it turned out to be some kind of lab, already appearing to be in a state of recent abandonment or progress of being abandoned, only a few items of seeming importance left, to him that was enough to convince himself they would returning, searching for any items, weapons and areas he could use to ambush and kill them with. During his search he came across the catalyst for his infection, a couple tanks of shadow leeches, many of them dead and malformed, a few tanks appearing to still have some kind of life in them, it was from one of this that he was infected, accidentally shattering one as he investigated the lab and its unstable creations.
The shadow leeches were in fact experimental ones, still in the long process of being perfected, the two shadowy Titans were in fact Makuta's, albeit fairly lesser ones power wise, that had been part of the group that had been attempting to make them.
Both of the were supportive of the Makuta's current plan, while not fully invested, not wishing to be caught up in the backlash if it failed, but enjoying the idea of what it would be like if he did succeed.
Due to the shadow leeches’s imperfect state they only managed to drain a small portion of his light, enough to affect his personality and form, but not fully connect or allow him to use the shadow element and decreasing his connection with his own, technically leaving him what could still be considered a Toa of shadow, if one that would still follow the Toa code and be less selfish and aggressive than most, at least it would've if not for his pre-existing mental damage and trauma from watching his village and friends being slaughtered, the mental effect of his light being drained along with the changes, both physically and mentally were enough to break him even more, shattering more of his mentality and driving him partially insane, his brain permanently shutting parts of itself down and repressing many of his memories, while not full repressions it made it much harder for him to recall them, with or without prompting.
It greatly changed his mentality and disposition, he forgot most of his want for revenge quickly, his attention span decreased, quickly adapting to the more simplistic tendencies of both his original and changed shadow personalities, he became much more aggressive, animalistic, permanently searching for things to do for his own amusement or of interest him, and acting on what popped into his head, be that smashing an object to trying to eat it, still managing to retain his sentience and ability to understand and think, even if much of it was drowned out from his erratic thought process and lack of attention span.
When the Makuta arrived to collect the last of their items they were quite surprised to find the lab in shambles, much of the leftover items destroyed, and most of the contained rahi free from their tubes or tanks and dead, both some of the objects and rahi showing bite marks, as if something tried to eat them, some even being partially eaten at that (a horrifying sight due to the usual social tendencies of the MU beings). It was an even bigger surprise when they found the only one smashed Shadow leech tank and soon after the Toa of air survivor from the village they had been testing their experiments on, now partially shadowified and the mutations fully run their course, leaving him in his current state, gnawing on what appeared to be a piece of metal before he saw them spitting it out and hissing at them aggressively before seeming to recognize them, subconsciously knowing he had some kind of affiliation, and excitedly talking to them, asking if they had any more fun for him.
Both of them quickly took advantage of the situation, realizing the potential they could gain from him, being a Toa from a relatively secluded island, barely any outsiders knowing of it and definitely not of him and if they could replicate and modify what caused him to become like he was, a seemingly willing servant, and as they discovered the more dangerous, chaotic and dangerous the test or command they gave him the more willing he'd become, In essentially, what could be a useful addition to the Makuta's plans, giving them a more impersonal way to deal with Toa, so long as they could work out most of the insanity, lack of attention span and possibility of betrayal if they managed to replicate what caused and allowed for this to happen, and if that failed they could at least learn how the Toa's body worked even better and see how much adaption his body could take to try and make him into either a powerful weapon, spy or both.
They took him, putting him through multiple of gruelingly, dangerous and quite possibly experiments, Spirax enjoying them the more so of each they were, this also adapted his personality, causing him to actually gain a great liking of physical tests such as theirs, all of them to see how to replicate his effect, how much he could withstand and adapt to or both.
As time went on his personality and mentality started to stabilize, his attention span increasing to a more controllable level, being able to focus more and starting to remember what his original association with the Makuta was and parts of his past life, staying the same mentality wise and still much too far gone, most likely a permanent change from his original self by now. He also had gained a fair amount of intelligence from what he'd learned from his tests, especially mechanically wise, robotics being the most.
After a few years of his testing, the great cataclysm having passed by then, he managed to escape after the Makuta testers planned to kill him, Spirax no longer truly providing any useful data, and carrying the potential to become something of a legitimate threat. Unluckily for them Spirax managed to turn the tables on them, ending up with him killing them, not that he'd ever admit it, preferring to say someone who will not be named managed to accomplish the feat.
After that he escaped, taking to wandering and doing as he wanted, be that stealing, blowing up an uninhabited building at random or helping to protect a village, he'll do it if it pops into his mind, still following the Toa code enough that he doesn't usually kill his opponent, unless they're Makuta due to both the subconscious remembrance of his past and the conscious distrust his testers gave him after they tried to kill him influencing his decisions related to their species.
He does still protect Matoran, if in his own way, which contains the possibility of robbing them or pranking them, be it maliciously or not, all dependent on how he feels at the time.
He will also work with nearly anyone if they can catch his attention and it won't involve the death or (serious) injury of Matoran, even a Makuta could probably convince him to work with them if offered a few items of possible influence and tried a touch.

Tekan
Name: Tekan
Species: Toa
Element: Shadow (100%)
Gender: Male
Kanohi: Kualsi, Avohkii shaped, black
Appearance:
(And yes, his shoulders are supposed to be pure black, just have yet to get around to painting/replacing 'em yet.)
Powers, Weapons, and Abilities: Tekan owns, and generally only fights with a large scythe.
Other than a noticeably larger than average height and matching strength Tekan truly has no other special abilities, besides the ones granted to him by his shadow-ization, and his surprising Retainment of the majority of his old-self after it.
He is permanently stuck in his shadowized state. While the Shadow leech couldn't fully change his mentality despite the light draining, mainly in part due to its still experimental stage, it managed to create a permanent barrier between his element, leaving him permanently stuck in his current state.
Personality: Tekan is a gruff individual, usually keeping up a fairly neutral state when around those he has yet to get to know, and even those he does know.
When not keeping such an aura up he's still a very gruff individual, one of the many 'quirks' his shadowized state gave him. He's a touch irritable, quick to bark out his opinion, or threats, on matters that may include him, and quick to leave afterwards. Otherwise he's a friendly enough figure, willing to socialize until something happens to grate him, and usually with some manner of advice to hand out if asked, if also a bit depressing at times.
He does have great difficulty in fully restraining his anger, such as when it comes to following the Toa code and its lack of killing, especially when Makuta are added, while usually able to keep it down to just short bursts of irritation, he can, and will loose control if the situation/pressure comes to it, and will attempt much more lethal action against those his rage is aimed at.
Background: Tekan was once an Av-Matoran but is now just another end-result of a Shadow-Leech test.
He was taken around the beginning of their attempted creation.
While the tests proved successful, fully draining Tekan of his inner light, he managed to retain some form of his previous self, resisting the conversion to the more evil mentality others have been shown to gain and instead becoming much gruffer and angrier, to the point that he had trouble resisting giving into his anger and the darker changes to his mentality.
He eventually managed to escape, presumably during an attack against the base, quickly finding a way off island and traveling across others as he attempted to find out how to revert his changes, being able to usually just pass himself off as an odd looking Onu-Matoran.
During his travels he managed to get his hands on an item with the energy to change him into a Toa, which he used in hopes that such would restore his element. It unfortunately didn't, instead only further increasing his connection to the Shadow element.
Afterwards he took to traveling the islands, acting as a form of mercenary/wandering protector and hunting Makuta. He eventually encountered Spirax after hearing reports of a possible Makuta, later choosing to travel with him, mainly in the hopes to at least attempt to keep his behavior in check... A fairly futile exercise as he soon learned.

Ibriki
Name: Ibriki
Species: Matoran
Element: Stone
Gender: Male
Kanohi: Powerless Kulsai
Appearance:
Powers, Weapons, and Abilities: Ibriki wields a scavenged scrap spear and a modified air blaster which has been redesigned to allow for the firing of large poined stones since his arrival on the surface.
He has a high level of skill at building machines and tools/weapons, while nowhere near that of such as a Nynrah Ghost or Vortixx, he is still much better than that of the average Matoran.
Personality: Ibriki is quite gruff for a Matoran, a loner by nature, or just one who doesn't enjoy socialization with most individuals. In truth he cared little for the other Matoran of Mahri-Nui. While he understood the benefits of having them alive, he remained on quite an impersonal stance to many of them, just playing his part to attempt to ensure his chances of survival would be as high as he could make them.
He's quite decisive, rarely acting without some form of thought and planning. One who observes and try's to figure out which path to take for the best outcome.
He's also quite a bit of a work-a-holic, one who can get invested into a project to such a depth that they may forget to take care of themselves.
Background: Ibriki was originally from Mahri-Nui, but he didn't stay there long. While he did remain for most f the past couple of years after the Catclysm he was removed in a fairly quick manner, being nearly killed during a Barraki attack on the island and swept from the island.
While he expected to die he was surprised to find himself alive and well, resting in an underwater cave and surrounded by a large, was obviously artificial air bubble. It was an even bigger surprise when he found out who it was that saved him.
While at first beleiving his savior to be instead a Barraki captor (which was at least fairly close on the captor part). He quickly learned that she was actually a Toa, another mutated denizen of the now destroyed prison of course, but still safer than that of a Barraki. Especially when considering the damage to her original limbs and once he began to learn some of her past and witnessed her quite obssessive protectiveness of him, eventually leading to what was basically a permanent stay in her cavern.
While he wasn't exactly that disturbed by the development, Rakya, his Toa 'savior', being more than willing to ensure he remained healthy, alive, and generally happy, ensuring his air bubble remained full and even going out of her way to gather materials from the remnants of the pit for him to work and build with, he was still highly wary of her and her story and thus planned out possible ways to escape, even going so far as to build a breathing device for her, using the distraction to also build his current scrap spear to kill her with if he chose to.
He chose to continue trusting her, seeing her as the better choice for survival.
This eventually lead to Ibriki's and Rakya's current location on the surface, Ibriki managing to create a working breathing apparatus, the effort luckily lessened once it was discovered Rakya was partially amphibious from the mutations, and even managed to build the replacements/repairs for her limbs, before Rakya managed to bring them to the surface.
Currently he is more than 'happy' to live with Rakya, curious to learn more of her hidden story, such as her real name due to the suspicious fact that it literally translates to murder (gotta love the Matoran dictionary) and realizing the usefulness of having what amounts to his own personal Toa, even despite her weakened attributes and... 'quirks', and even having taken a bit of a liking to her, making her one of the few he didn't mind interacting with.

Rakya
Name: Rakya
Species: Toa, pit mutated
Element: Lightning
Gender: Female
Kanohi: Powerless/mutated Matatu
Appearance:
Powers, Weapons, and Abilities: Rakya wields a pair of twin blades, both recovered from the destruction of the Pit.
Other than that she no longer has access to her Kanohi power, the mutations having rendered it powerless, but she does retain some access to her elemental power. While it is no longer at the strength it originally was she can easily channel it through both her weapons and body to a reasonably high level, a resistance allowing her to do such, along with that she can manipulate the electricity that spread from her own, such as if she was to use such underwater, allowing her to manipulate the spreading electricity field to target and avoid others.
She also has a slightly increased nightvision, can breath underwater, has slightly higher than average strength due to her 'upgrades', and can cause her spine/back to glow at will.
Unfortunately she's greatly debilitated by her infected eye, having damaged it in a fight against one of the Barraki, losing one of her mandibles/fangs, and leaving her with a permanently blurred and faded view on her left side.
Personality: Rakya is... twitchy. While usually an unbelivably friendly indivudal, acting especially affectionate to Matoran, she can be set off certain conditions, such as seeing a Matoran be harmed or witnessing a Toa/similar protector not 'caring enough for their Matoran', suddenly switching to a crazed individual willing to slaughter whatever set her off while also attempting to keep Matoran 'safe' ,even to the level of possible danger to themselves.
Otherwise she's a nice enough individual, friendly, if to a sometimes creepy level, inquisitive, slightly distractible, and a bit twitchy, usually shown by at times bursting into chittering giggles.
Background: Rakya, originally known as Idris, was the single Toa protector of the village of a Makuta assigned island.
Since her beginnings she has always carried a love for Matoran, coddling and interacting with them at every chance she could get, nearly treating them as beings more precious to herself than Mata-Nui himself. Which was why it was such a surprise when she appeared to have slaughtered her entire island.
While the full story is unknown to all but Idris, who later renamed herself Rakya after her sentencing to the pit, it has since been assumed, after the Makuta's betrayal, that the original idea, her just snapping and slaughtering everything, was incorrect (the shakiness surrounding it since its consideration helping), most likely having instead involving all of the Matoran being killed in quick succession, most likely the Makuta, causing her to snap and kill it along with basically glassing the entire island, if the charred husk of armor she was attacking before being recovered was truly the yet to be found Makuta, and her rantings about her 'precious things' being killed meant anything.
In truth her imprisonment to the Pit was less due to the assumption of her killing the Matoran than it was to both contain her, and keep it a secret from the Matoran that a Toa could do such, or at least be driven to such levels of insanity as her.
During said imprisonment Rakya was involved in multiple escape attempts, both in escape of the prison and just containment to attempt attacks on individuals known for harming Matoran, leading to heavy and lasting damage across her form, mainly centered across her limbs, and increases on her security and quality of treatment.
After the original Pit collapse Rakya, despite the sudden mutations, quickly took advantage of the situation to attack those she had been stopped from doing such to before, scavenging a twin pair of blades and hunting them down while she could, eventually leading to a brawl between one of the Barraki, which resulted in the of her left mandible/fang and lasting damage to her left eye, leading to the later, visible infection she currently suffers from.
Afterwards she took to wandering the remnants, eventually learning of the fallen Mahri-Nui, while she would've attempted to enter she quickly learned of the poisonous atmosphere, and the Matoran's wariness of Barraki-esque beings just as fast.
Instead she took to helping them as she could, attempting to thwart Barraki attacks, become prepared to recover fallen Matoran should such happen, and leave potentially helpful objects for them to find, keeping herself just an unknown helper all the while.
This eventually lead to her encountering Ibriki after his fall, and her subsequent obsession with keeping him afterwards. And, to put it simply she was beyond overjoyed when he seemed to not mind her plan, and even offered to help repair her.
This, when combined with his additional confirmation that he preferred staying with her and gift of the internal breathing upgrade, she is quite literally willing to do near-anything for him and to keep him safe, even going so far as to sacrifice her own life on the latter.
Currently she is checking out the nearest islands to Mahri-Nui (besides Voya-Nui) with Ibriki.
