"Exciting?" The Oohnorak blinks, unconvinced, before half mumbling "Like what?" As if realizing what he said, the Oohnorak quickly speaks again quite a bit louder than usual. "Forgive my bluntness, but I just tend to see a lot of serious, depressing things going on most of the time."
”True, there is a lot of bad in this world. But there’s also a lot of good, and people trying to do good. In the end it all balances out, leaving the world more or less the same.”
"And you...are aware of this through your travels?"
”True, there is a lot of bad in this world. But there’s also a lot of good, and people trying to do good. In the end it all balances out, leaving the world more or less the same.”
"And you...are aware of this through your travels?"
”Nah, I just figure that’s the case. From what I’ve seen, the bad things are pretty prominent. But it never really involves me, so I just continue towards my destination.”
"And you...are aware of this through your travels?"
”Nah, I just figure that’s the case. From what I’ve seen, the bad things are pretty prominent. But it never really involves me, so I just continue towards my destination.”
The Oohnorak suddenly hears a voice in his head before he has a chance to reply. "Excuse this, please, but Fosoril wishes to communicate that you should take advantage of this. He says, 'we need this as a surveillance and public relations trip. Figure out a way to join this traveler.'"
The Oohnorak grows noticeably tense as he, in disbelief and growing discomfort, responds. "Why?..... This is unnecessary."
"Fosoril says, 'It is quite necessary. It's a new angle. Can't you see? I send you out as the traveling, friendly Chagrin tactical surveyor. I expect much credit and praise while be secured for the both of us.'"
"With respect, that is great and fine...except that I am not exactly the right one for this. You can find someone else? I have duties here. With any respect due, I can't simply start wandering about Spherus Manga. Besides all of this...As head of regional tactical operations I possess clear authority on tactical priorities. And...As such...I feel this endeavor is unnecessary and ill-developed, therefore, I am logging your idea as a suggestion for future consideration."
The Oohnorak relaxes a little. Although not happy that such a blatant usage of authority on his own part was engaged in, he was certainly not going to allow himself to be compelled to leave the safety and security of the fortress to go wandering about who knows where with a traveler he had little trust in.
Fosoril's aid, after a brief moment of silence, responds. "I'm sorry to tell you this, but Fosoril says he pre-checked this with Overseer Tyglax and that you have been assigned to survey the state of the world's inhabitants and formulate a long term strategy of engagement and relations on the basis of such."
The Oohnorak inwardly deflates. The only way out of this was to run away...But that would be counterproductive as running away in order to avoid running away was...completely ill-advised. However, perhaps another approach would work.
Trying to straighten up slightly, the Oohnorak speaks to the traveler in a quiet, tired voice. "I assume you always travel alone? It must be far easier for you to wander without the irritation and presence of others around you? You probably wouldn't like it if another being who wanted to observe the world asked to go with you."

”I tend to travel alone, mostly because nobody is too interested in traveling these days. I don’t know if I have a preference either way.”

Before the Oohnorak can respond, Fosoril's aid contacts him again. "Sir, Fosoril is, of course, not pleased with your inferred intention. I did attempt to intercede for you...Although I don't think I accomplished much. But sir, Fosoril is saying now that the assignment is one of great honor and could put you in line for the new position that...unfortunately...opened up at Tyndax."
The Oohnorak, surprised, briefly considers this. Tyndax was in a region of undoubted importance. Besides that, the position was one of general freedom. Since the demise of the late lead officer there at the hands of that...rogue Makuta...that position had opened, and had not yet been filled. True, Oohnorak were not often looked to for top leadership positions, but if anything could catch him notoriety and get him out from underneath that irritating Fosoril, then wouldn't this be that thing?
After a quick mental back and forth with Fosoril's aid (who kindly refrained from relaying to Fosoril the Oohnorak's identification of the word, irritating, with the lead officer) the Oohnorak assembles all of his will power and girds himself up to ask the most difficult and most unwanted question of his life.
"Can I go with you?...To see the world I mean. You see, I've been stationed at this fortress for so long that I've lost touch with the surroundings and I feel a..quick...look around the world may do me some good. I don't particularly want to go on my own of course."

Darren thinks for a moment. “I don’t have any problems with it.” He answers. “Is there anywhere you want to go? I generally don’t have a destination in mind when traveling.”

The Oohnorak quietly responds. "Perhaps we could stay away from conflict and seek out what Matoran villages may still exist?"

The Oohnorak quietly responds. "Perhaps we could stay away from conflict and seek out what Matoran villages may still exist?"
"Sure." He lays out a beat up map, which seems to be slightly outdated. Granted, with the world changing as much as it does, not many physical maps are up to date anymore. He scans it over, and after a couple seconds he asks, "How about Ta-Koro? I think that village is still more or less intact."

OOC: Sorry for my inactivity. If you have moved on and want to drop this just let me know.
IC: The Oohnorak glances hastily at the map before looking back at the fortress with a concerned expression. In a matter of seconds, a large company of four Boggarak deployers, six H.W. Exo-toa, two S. Exo Toa, three Kohrok with enhanced senses krana, eight Bohrok Va, and an OTAT teleport a little ways behind the Oohnorak. The OTAT is loaded down with dozens of shrunken crates, but still possesses a wide area inside to carry the accompanying force.
The Oohnorak, now with an uneasy smile, turns back to the traveler. "Ta Koro? Yes...of course. That is decent start."

Darren notices the uneasy smile along with the troops that have appeared. "It seems you're busy, you don't have to com along if you have stuff to do."
OOC: Eh, this character doesn't really have anywhere to go at the moment. It's up to you.

OOC: I'd like to proceed then. I think this circumstance will add some nice variety to the RP.
IC: The Oohnorak blinks in surprise before realizing that Darren probably noticed the new arrivals.
"Have something to do? No, these people are our safety guarantee. We'll have every resource and supply we could possibly require while also being quite safe."

"Of course. Lead the way, if you desire."
The Oohnorak's company, receiving a mental order to begin the journey, prepare for the trek.
