Within the depths of the region, not too far away from the road, an ancient structure juts up out of the ground. A massive hand, not too dissimilar to that of the Great Spirit Robot, albeit much smaller. It reaches up out of the ground, seemingly untouched by time. However, this is composed of a strange green material that glistens wetly The palm is utterly silent, the storms of the region somehow suppressed within its space, and the ghostly figure of Eryu floats above, repeating a message
"By order of Enryu, this building is under quarantine indefinitely. A class-D lifeform is contained within. Please remain outside, for your own safety. Those seeking access should seek Enryu, and request a type three permit. Repeat. By order of Enryu..."
"Mmm, having a key is the same as a forced entry, in some respects." Carlinus dons goggles and enters. The powers of several sense-related Kanohi are on passively, allowing him to see anything otherwise invisible.

Sonucus follows, twirling his staff. Being very bad at twirling, he promptly drops it. He bends down, picks it up, and quickly follows Carlinus.
The hatch leads into a room of moderate size. There are no other apparent doors leading out of the room. There is a table with five chairs ringing it at the center, but otherwise no features at all. To Carlinus, the room appears to be an infinite void. The Vaults do terrible things to people who try to scan them.
Zahard sits at the table, and gestures for the others to follow.
"Welcome to my home, such as it is. Tell me, Carolus. How long has it been? I was in this room so long, I lost all track. I was sealed here just after the Shattering. I would guess two years? Three? Surely not too long."

SOnucus frowns briefly. "I've lost all my records for the moment, but at least a hundred thousand years."

Noting that the equipment has been scrambled, Carlinus removes his goggles and sits where Zahard has beckoned.
He nods in concurrence with Sonucus's statement. "It's been about a hundred thousand, give or take one year. I've a collection of journals about it. It's been far too long."

"I never did find out satisfactorily what went on while I was in the GSR"
A toa of air wearing a mask of rebounding stumbles across the rusted plains, dehydrated and low on sleep. He sees the Hand and walks toward it slowly due to exhaustion.

Anrobroid sees the Toa and flies down. To the Toa, he is a shining being of light with wings.
"Here, let me help you." He activates his mask power, restoring the Toa to full health.

The toa leans on his knees and pants a response. "Uh... Thanks..."

The hologram stands atop a hatch set into the palm of the Hand. The hatch seems unsecured, and occasionally rattles in the breeze. The sound is a strange one, though. More like a soft thumping than a metallic clang.

Edna teleports in and walks up to the hologram.
Quimbo, the toa of air, sees the matoran on top of the hand and takes to the air. Using his powers, he flies toward her silently.

Anrobroid briefly scans Quimbo's mind to find out what he's doing and then becomes a spirit. The Toa hears Anrobroid's voice in his head.
"I don't think that Kra-Matoran is very friendly. If you intend to cure the Matoran, it won't be easy."
Then I suppose I should be a little stealthy. Good to know she's a Kra-matoran. Quimbo flies in a manner that Edna will not see him, due to the Hand. Once he gets close to the structure, he flies up, toward the part Edna is at but still avoiding her line of sight.
